Default Leadership of the X-men...who's next?

Professor Xavier's leadership had its glory days.
Scott and Emma's time will end too.

Who do you think is a qualified, interesting choice to lead the X-men next? Or should Scott/Emma continue? Xavier return?

It's more fun to see things fall apart so I choose Rogue.

LOL I can't say she doesn't deserve that comment but I'd support her as leader. She's imperfect but resilient.

and nearly got half the X-men killed the last time due to her poor choices

The only person on that list that needs to step up as head leader is Storm, with other characters leading individual squads

I still don't see how that was her fault. She knew Sabretooth and Mystique were walking time bombs and just wanted them away from the mansion. Karima/Cable was completely unexpected. As for Mastermind...well, Emma's on the team.

As much I like Rogue and love her in a leadership position, Storm's got seniority over her.

Scott and Emma are gunna lead for a while IMO. Eventually they'll pass it down to one of NXM

I know it might not be popular with everybody on here, but I;d have to go with Xavier.

After the tenure of "The Uncanny Happy X-Commune" in San Francisco, and now "Happy Mutant Island," the brand needs a proper Disassembled style breakdown, to get back to what actually made the book work in the first place.

And Xavier should be responsible for that. He can take whoever he wants with him, but it has to be done on the same kind of scale as the Avengers franchise before New Avengers.

Break it up and rebuild from the ground up, with a big name writer leading the charge. It's the only way I can see the books ever getting back to where they should be.

Emma reformed YEARS before joining the X-men. Xavier trusted her to be headmistress of the School and she proved herself to be trustworthy. By the time she joined the X-men, she had already been working for them and done good. Rogue should have never let Lady Mastermind stay. The difference between her and other former villians that joined the group is that she NEVER expressed any desire in reforming. She stayed with them during the first mission to fight and get payback for the Children of the Vault using her and to get those that put her in a coma. Not once did she come across as wanting to change her villianous ways and was remorseful for her past. There was no proof that she was now a hero and Rogue should have been on top of that. I really dont think its fair to compare Regan to Emma

Dont get me wrong bc I loved Rogue as leader at first. I thought she was a good field leader and did well at first but looking back at it in hindsight, she really wasnt that great and the info thats come out since, have shed light on the fact that she should have never been given such a responsibility. She's better at following direction.

I like the idea of Professor X or Wolverine, maybe both.

Maybe she can form her own cat team, featuring Beast, Thornn, Hepzibah, Catesye and Black Panther. Feral and her Feline Friends...what a lineup!
