Default The MATT FRACTION Interrogation 2009

Matt Fraction is spending this week answering questions on WhiteChapel (Warren Ellis' home on the net). Seems to be the same deal as last year on the Bendis board.

http://freakangels.com/whitechapel/c...ID=7178&page=1

Quote:
It's been a year or so since Matt last did a residency here, and he has stupidly kindly volunteered to come back for a week to answer any and all questions.

So fire away, and Matt will get to them as best he can.

Note: this thread is being watched, and obvious nutters will be disappeared. Disappearing you from Whitechapel is a one-button operation that takes a lot less effort than you expend in making new accounts and being a nutter in public. Plus, it amuses us.

So, with that out of the way: please speak your brains to my friend Matt and make him regret volunteering for this. If you can keep him engaged, I think he may have some news for you by the end of the week.

Scott and Emma. As Scott-and-Emma. I like their relationship an awful lot, and how they each amplify one another.
I'm not surprised but I don't think they're that great together at all

I hope the next writer breaks them up just to put the characters in new directions. They've become exactly like Scott and Jean without the morals.

Agreed. And they seem to be the only 'character' he's interested in writing, at times.

Well, it seems that if PAD is trying, he's succeeding.

Here you go, honeybear ♥

Q. Which X-men characters do you loathe?

A. The ones with the most-inpenetrable backstories; the ones that require wikipedia entries just to get off of square one. i've learned over this last little bit that there's... it's not like other characters in the Marvel U where, say, you can just ignore the killer broccoli aliens from Iron Fist's backstory and nobody really cares; some X fan, somewhere, is going to love that one thing you find cold, impenetrable, confusing, or just plain best left alone, and want to know why you didn't spend half an issue acknowledging it.

Continuity is the devil; consistency is the watchword.

He also said something about Namor being permanent (9_9) and about bringing in ANOTHER GREAT CHARACTER HE WANTED TO WRITE~!!! in 518 or 519 or something idk.

And I think thats the problem. I never liked Scott and Emma, but I hate how pretty much everyone has takena backseat to them in UXM. That book is 80% Scott and Emma and 20% everyone else

Sounds like he's talking about Jean and the fans who have to use bullet-points to describe the high points of the Phoenix Force. Also, Magik.

Sage has a fairly straight-forward origin. Hindu Kush, Xavier's, Hellfire Club. Insert harem somewhere.
