Default I'm depressed.

Okay first off apologies this has nothing to do with comic books, it's just that it's 5AM here and there's no one I can talk to...

I dunno. You see I've always been gay, and I thought my gaydar was pretty accurate. And then I fell for a straight guy. And then another one. And then another one. Ad infinitum.

And it's the usual, "I'm really sorry but I'm not gay" story with them. Which is understandable, because, hello. But, the thing is, if you're using this line, shouldn't you back it up with, I don't know, "being" with girls?

Damn it, ALL the "straight" guys I've ever fallen for heavily are apparently gay and flirting with guys now months AFTER they rejected me based on sexuality.

I don't know. Of course, it's NOT a bad thing if they're gay and coming out.

But I just wish that they were more...honest. Like, "I'm just not that into you"-type of honesty, instead of "I would have been into you, but I really like girls"-bullshit.

And of course now they're playing the "I-don't-date-my-good-gay-friends" card. Sigh.

You know, at the end of the day, if this was a one-time occurence, I'd feel bad, but I'd shake it off.

But it happened to ALL my "straight" guys. For the record, there are now FIVE guys who rejected me based on them being "straight" and are now being flamboyantly hooking up.

It's just depressing. It makes me think.

Is it me?
Am I repelling guys?

I'm sorry that right now things are so bad darling. First of all there is NOTHING wrong with you. My guess would be that the guys in question just didn't think you were "Their type"...which happens to everyone now and then. And they probably thought the way they did things was the best way to spare your feelings.

I honestly think there's someone for everyone out there. Don't let a few bad experiences on the dating scene get to you *Hugs*

1) Don't worry about it. Talking about comics is rare on YABS. You know where the real comic talk is held. As you participate in the dc subforum here on CBR enough and you give good contributions.

2) If they are straight. They are straight. There isn't really gaydar anymore. Some people are not as camp as they are expected to be.

Are you sure you haven't been using the gay-repellent bat-spray instead of deodorant?

Well, consider this: Would you even want to be with someone who was so unsure of themselves that they would lie like that? Or if they weren't lying maybe being so careless with their words?

One of my friends is gay and she used to hate it when she would date girls who were only going out with her because they were going through some phase or some such. She'd part ways with them and see them a month later with some guy.

I'd much rather be with someone who was completely honest with me (and with themselves really) about who they were and what theyr'e all about.

Everyone should be allowed to experiment a bit and find out what works for them, but it can be tough on those that get experimented on.

Or so my victims tell me.

QFT. Nothing wrong with experimentation. Better to have loved than lost than to never loved at all.

The ones that are still able to talk, anyway

I think the whole romance thing is a bit overrated anyway...

I mean, I used to fall in love with straight guys. Then I moved on to falling in love with gay guys who were not interested. Then I ended up with a gay guy who PRETENDED to be interested to get things out of me. Then I actually fell in love with somebody who genuinely loved me, and it still ended in tears.

So now I've pretty just given up on the whole thing and have a lot more time for comic books and the gym.

What I'm saying is, maybe you should take a pottery class or something and forget about men.

I disagree.

Love works!.

You guys just need to put yourselfs out there on the market.

Comic books and pottery classes are not the answer!

I think it's because I'm tired, but I keep reading that as "You guys just need to put your balls out there on the market."

That said, I don't disagree. See a dude you like? Pull out your carrot, slap your nuts down on the coffee table and be like "See anything you like, speak up, if not let's just keep going with our day."

Isn't that how Greta Garbo describes romance in "Ninotchka"?

I dunno man, did he mention the balls on the coffee table thing?

'Cause if not I'm patenting that for my book, "40footwolf's Guide For You Gay Dudes, In Relation To Bangin' and Such".
