YES!!!!! Can't wait for this. And the five dollar price tag doesn't really bum me out, though I hope we get our money's worth.

I'm not sure there needed to be a change in the the King of Asgard. I liked JMS's Lord of Asgard, Thor. He roamed the planet, and put in when SI came around. Having Thor's power reduced and using Baldar as the King reduces the grandeur of Thor in his own book. It's like playing musical chairs with the Kingship, and Loki will be next. I'd rather Thor wasn't removed from his thrown, because he had such raw power in that state. As he is now, he has been reduced to Thor Girl power, and he can be killed at will. Baldars not just a caretaker monarch, but Loki is using him as a tool. At least Thor would be able to resist Loki's enchantments, but Baldar is like a drinking buddy, who was voted to fill the chair.

jackolover - check out the last couple of issues of Thor - Balder is yanking Doom's chain pretty good. He's in a tough situation.

Thor is NOT at Thor girl power - in the annual it shows his problems may be more emotional than physical.

How is he at Thor Girl's level and how can he be killed at will (Wasn't Clor, a Thor Clone with a fraction of Thor's powers beating the shit out of the Initiative along with Thor Girl?)? Even Classic Thor is ridiculously powerful?

Hell, even Thor after his rebirth, was just Classic Thor with a portion of the Odin Force as I understand it, and the only time he actually used it as far as I recall, was in his fight with Bor.

well, he did bring/create Asgard on earth and recalled all the Asgardians, too

Whoever they have in mind to take over after these guys are gone are gonna have some big shoes to fill. I love Billy Tan, but his style just will not fit for Thor. I say, stick Tan on Iron Man and get someone like Carlos Pacheco on this book. I gotta say, I really can't stand William. He bores me to death.

Thor began the resurrection of the Gods with his Odin power. And It didn't sound like Dr Strange was saying the reduction in power wasn't going to effect him, either. Thor is now a poor facsimile of his former self, a position of power that has been wasted, now that he is tied to the hammer in the way he is. It's made him more mortal, granted, but it removes all the overfather aspect of his personer. The more and more he interacts with Balder, the more rediculous it will seem that this joke of a God (Baldar) is now his superior.

Nevertheless, the downgrading of what was an interesting character like an errant teenager, has been made complete with the Dr Strange spell on his hammer. I can't think of a more inbalanced plot than having Baldar in charge, and Thor, the Odinson, fractured by a jobbing from Loki.

I agree, Balder is pretty lame as Lord of Asgard. The only Asgardians capable of ruling are Thor and Loki, because they are leaders.

The way I understood "Thor" #602 was that Strange just fixed Thor's hammer by fusing it with Thor's life force, not necessarily sacrificing the Odinforce to fix the hammer. Thor still has the Odinforce, just not the confidence as after the hammer was fixed he was still able to draw out Sif.
