Default The Anti-Spiral VS Tokimi Kami-Sama

Arena battle!

The Anti-Spiral(TTGL) and Tokimi Kami-Sama(Tenchi Muyo!) reach a disagreement in the Khazan Bar, since both of them have totally different directions in life: Tokimi to force evolution and the Anti-Spiral to suppress it. And they decide to resolve their differences in a sea of blood: the KHAZAN!

Who takes the match of near-true Gods?

Scenario: DICKERY BATTLE! Who's been a bigger dick to the populace of their respective universe, Tokimi or the Anti-Spiral?

Tokimi did try to resolve things in the end. AFAIK, the Anti-Spirals did not.

The Anti-Spiral, however, where trying to prevent Universal armageddon. And from their point of view spiral races where incapable or the restraint needed to have spiral power and use it in moderation. And they had experience with this both from observation of others and having been one themselves.

ISTR Tokimi's goals were far more selfish.

Technically, both were acting "for the good" of the lesser races.

At the very least, the Anti-Spiral's issue was a matter of universal survival. They *had* to suppress the Spiral races or the universe goes kablooey.

If Tokimi left things with the status quo, consequences would not have been so apocalyptic.

Tokimi, pretty easily. Anti-Spiral are universe level, while "infinitely-linked universes" are a ball of light to Tokimi, who occupies the space outside of reality.

And given that she can mess with history and rebirth at a whim, she can, like...reincarnate Kamina on the Anti-Spirals homeworld back before they became the Anti-Spirals.

I don't know. As Yeoman said, the Anti-Spirals had reasons stemming from what was, in their opinion, the only way to save the universe from destruction. Whereas Tokimi's goals were more selfish.

On the other hand, like Cosmic Eagle said, Tokimi actually rewrote the last however many thousands of years of history to undue all the dickery she committed during the experiment...while the Anti-Spiral, regardless of intent, were still pretty much dicks.

Why should they want to undo what they caused?

Given their motivations were perfectly logical (cruel, but logical), and ultimately, in fact, beneficial to the universe, "undoing" what they caused would be monumental stupidity on their part.

Not to mention they never believed they were wrong. They only passed the goal of universal survival to Simon because, at that point, they were dead. And couldn't undo the damage due to the aformentioned being dead.

Extra Note to this: The Anti Spirals effort caused the Spirals that eventually defeated them to, infact, not destroy the universe. Their interference did prevent the Spiral Nemesis...just not in the way that they intended. At least, as far as we know.

Technically, we don't know that.

The Spiral people's pledged to "guard against" the Spiral Nemesis and ensures it never comes to be.

But memories are short, heroes fade away, and hubris and expediency eventually take over. We even see such in the events of the third arc.

Then it's a damn good thing Simon has an immortal messenger than can't be tempted by abuse of Spiral Power.

Its weird though if you think about it; in about 80-100 years, its Viral who will be the last surviving member of the Dai Gurren Dan, and who still won't have reached his goal of being a father.
