Don't ask me how, it just happens to be that all trees in the world are now sentient with the ability to attack whoever ticks them off with branches that fires heat vision (sure it's totally wrong and makes little logic that the fact is there are no eyes.yet I kept mentioning vision but that's how it rolls!!)

Not to mention they can talk and they talk smack and are generally very rude.

Does anyone see the irony of sentient beings made of WOOD are shooting out energy that creates FIRE? Seriously, I think this is too much for my brain to even handle.

This is a thread titled "nature's logic gone wrong". I think I'm justified in my arguments.

There is an excellent show on discovery/science channel that covers this. There is a tree in Africa that baits and kills herds of grazing animals. I have oak trees that emit a poison that kills lots of vegetation close to it, including my garden this year.

Its pretty much a matter of time before we develop the proof that plants do have intelligence, cognition, etc. The show puts on a good point that it is almost impossible to believe that a tree that lives for 300 years does not have some intelligence.

So in the scenario we are pretty screwed. If nothing else all the trash talking will drive most people crazy.

I could imagine Arsonists having a field day, causing massive wildfires by agitating the tree, dodging the blasts, the blasts igniting other trees. It will be sad, but because of their annoyance, it will be even more hilairous

Entire forests are incinerated from infighting brought on by trees being pissed off by their insolent neighbor trees.

We all die from asphyxiation within the year unless plankton mutate into meta-plankton.

Yup on the infighting analysis. can you imagine what it would be like to have to stand in one place next to the same 50 odd people for 100 years?

Yeah and as far as the herds, I should mention it was in the range of 20-30 animals if I remember. The show is called "when plants attack" and the trees did it intelligently. It was not some type of standard poison/genetic defense. It was created specifically to kill that one herd it did not like. Other trees in other locations did not attack.
