Default What Puzzles You Today???

What sort of enigmas or oddities make your mind do a double-take?Is it what people say or do,is it something you hear or read about,or perhaps it's just an unexplained event that made you a bit curious!

A lot of things puzzle me lately:balloon freaks,religious nuts,politicians,weird weather,reality shows,etc!

So what about you:what puzzles you today???

I'm puzzled as to why you'd start over a hundred threads in 4 months if you're not interested in actually participating in them.

By some accounts, Hell is a bitterly cold place. So...

i'm wondering why everyone at the grocery story is so funny-looking. they're even funnier-looking than the shoppers at Wal-Mart.

Russell Brand is supposed to be a popular comedian, yet I know of nobody who actually likes him.

Because he's the riddler. Duh. He's just waiting for Batman to catch him.

Dante described the innermost circle of Hell as a frozen domain. From Wikipedia:

In Dante’s Inferno Satan is portrayed as a giant beast, frozen mid-breast in ice at the center of Hell. Satan has three heads and affixed under each chin are pairs of bat-like wings. As Satan beats his wings, he creates a cold wind which continues to freeze the ice surrounding him, and the other sinners in the Ninth Circle. The winds he creates are felt throughout the other circles of Hell. Each of his three mouths chew on Judas, Brutus, and Cassius

Customer's at the bookstore sometimes ask me if they can get a discount on a book that has some infinitesimal, invisible, and, in my estimation, non-existent flaw.

If I hesitate, they say, "It's the only copy on the shelf and I want to give it as a gift".

Why would they want to give a defective item as a gift? Will getting the defective item cheaper make them feel better about giving it as a gift?

This exchange occurs at least once a week. Of course the whole thing is a charade to try to get a lower price. But why this weird and implausible set of lies?

he's got his moments, he can be funny.

but his act has changed a lot since coming to the states, since, his supposed fame was from overseas, in England. So, I think it's been a bit tricky to get a 'fix' on his brand (no pun intended) of humor. he has potential, but who knows...

Similarly, I don't know anyone who loves Raymond.

Why can't everybody just stop obsessing over race? Skin color is trivial information, just like eye color. It doesn't tell you anything important about a person. Is he honest? Is she smart? Will these folks do a good job? Those are worthwhile questions, but you won't find answers in their skin pigmentation.
