Default Best & Worst fictional space police force !?

Almost everyone knows who the Green Lantern Corps is, or Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.
However very few know that most galactic police forces get their roots from E. E. Smith's novel series The Lensman.

So in honor of the Lensman series...

In your opinion who is the best & worst intergalactic police force in fiction?

The G-Police from the game of the same name do an admirable job under very difficult circumstances, as players of the game may know.

Bonus points for the world never knowing of their existence even as they protect them from sometimes planetary level threats.

I admit to my ignorance of not even knowing the name E.E. Smith and the novel series, The Lensman, what it was about, and how it influenced anything?? O.o

But for one of the BEST intergalactic Police Forces....this was always cool..

And I bet the novel didn't come with a rockin' 80's song to go along with it!

I"ve always wondered what would happen if we gave the Police Academy and Reno 911! casts their own Green Lantern rings.

Check out the science fiction novel Triplanetary for an intro in the Lensman. (You could also start with First Lensman, which is the 2nd part of the novel series).

Lensman was the Starwars / Startrek of the 30's-50's IMO. They have a huge cast of different planets, Ships that travel FTL, blaster pistols and my personal favorite the Space-Axe

Advertures of the Galaxy Rangers is hilarious Totally reminded me of the Silverhawks, who are also space police.

A thread about space police forces and no one has mentioned the Tenchi Muyo Galaxy Police?

They're huge, fairly efficient, their headquarters is made up of multiple ring-worlds, they all have blatantly superhuman physical stats due to nanomachine enhancements and as of GXP, they apparently hand out lightsabers to their officers as standard equipment. What's not to love?

Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs is also a worthy mention for 80's opening theme song

Does the police force have to be made up of living beings?

If not, I'll nominate the original robotic Manhunters created by the Guardians of the Universe in the category of worst.

They malfunctioned, killed millions, were replaced, and ended up becoming violent enemies of their replacements.

Just imagine if a cop not only got fired for killing someone, but later went on to try & kill the cop who took his job! That's what the Manhunters did, but on an intergalactic scale involving millions of beings....
