Default Best Independent Comic Book

I read a ton of DC and Marvel. I recently bought Jonathan Hickman's books from Image and then Milo Ventimiglia's Berserker from Top Cow, both of them are awesome. So what are other good comics from Image, Top Cow, or any other publisher besides the big two?

Witchblade is pretty solid these days. It went from being a booby book to being an excellent fantasy/adventure/horror/crime book.

You weren't very specific on what kind fo book you like...

My favorite book is Savage Dragon, but it oinly works if you like comics that want to be comics (instead of movies, like 99% of the stuff out).

Come on Brik, Spawn does not belong on any reccomendation list, and you know that. Even if they get a whole issue drawn by Todd, it's still not something that deserves to be reccomended (unless you're reccomending the Neo Noir trades) .

.
Yeah I like comics that are comics too and Dragon is continually fun, although I think it could be better.

I love what Charlie Allred has done with the walking dead. His work really elevates the book.

I enjoy the LOEG when those books come out.

Old series you can pick up:
Stray Bullets.
Sin City
Cerebus

Yeah, Witchblade has been very good. Most of the Indie stuff I read though is in trades.

Some must reads include:

Blankets
Fortune and Glory
Total Sell Out
Jinx
Bone
Love and Rockets
Strangers in Paradise
Echo
Outlaw Nation
A Contract With God
I Kill Giants
Understanding Comics
Powers (OK, it's at Marvel's Icon line but it started at Image)
Fell
Ultra
The Adventures of Barry Ween
Battlefields (I've only read the second arc but it was great and I hear the rest are no worse - get the HC though, it's much better value for money)

Also, as far as DC and Marvel goes, I take it you read Vertigo and Icon as well because if you don't, MAN, do I have a lot to recommend.
