Default Mighty Avengers #30 *Spoilers*

Pym's 'destiny' both as a team leader of MA and as a character in MU in general has taken a surprising turn in Mighty Avengers #30.

SPOILER

Pym's reached out into the space outside of 'everything' and met Eternity. The cosmic entity even bestowed Pym with a new title - Scientist Supreme, beating out Reed Richards and Tony Stark. What did everyone think about the encounter?

Me personally, I thought it really added to the development of hank's stature (pun intended). It also felt like the epitome of Slott's style in his run on MA. It was glib, fast-paced, funny, and slightly touching.

Anyway, best Avengers' moment in awhile, IMO.

I forgot to add more .....

And in Tibet, China the battle against our controversial ex-Inhuman monarch, the UNSPOKEN, rages on. The rump of the New Avengers, the Young Avengers, the Avengers Resistance (lame except for Tigra), and of course our Mighty Avengers join Quicksilver, Ban-luck, and some of Chinese heroes (Radioactive Man!) against the Omega Level Threat.

This has potential. I especially like how Amadeus Cho directs Hercules on a side mission into the Slave Engine.

Scientist Supreme?

... Huh.

Will read this issue and get back to you. Not sure what to think though I doubt I'll be disappointed.

Really liked the issue and am enjoying, "The Unspoken" arc immensely!

Regarding, the Eternity encounter, for me Eternity seemed a little off, but I suppose was playing more toward Pym's psyche? - or what have you. I'll take the wait and see attitude on this one but definitely looks promising.

For me, this felt like reading an Avengers issue of old. I did pick up previous issues here and there but this arc in particular had that classic Avengers feeling, especially with the heroes present in the mansion. Nice!

Can't wait for next issue.

I honestly thought the Eternity going to Pym and calling him Scientist Supreme was kinda lame and forced.

Seriously... there's a scientist supreme now? And Eternity is going out of his way to assign the job (even though he's nowhere to be found with the Sorcerer Supreme thing?) I'm waiting for him to show up in Hulk and assign him the role of strong guy supreme next.

Aside from that, and the whole bit about Jocasta being his "anchor" (blah!) I thought it was an okay issue. It's neat to see the different Avenger teams assembling.

It's how he stays so pimp in that jacket. Keeps the hand strong.

Eternity was glib because it was basically hank having a conversation with everything that's not hank. It is quite similar to his identity crisis with his Yellowjacket persona. Except this time hank is immediately energized and ready to kick ass.

I think Slott's whole run has been about making hank into a CONFIDENT hero who lives up to his role as a true Founding Avenger.

Predicion:

Janet Van Dyne, the true Wasp, is resurrected in 2010.

I agree with the Eternity thing, seemed way out of the ordinary from previous Eternity appearances and I am wondering why Eternity would even bother - however I assume the creative team has something more in store for us in that regards.

The whole scientist supreme thing sounds really lame. And it should've gone to Reed anyway, not the guy who hit his wife.

They actually dealt with that. Eternity explains that even though Reed is smarter than Hank, he can't be the scientist supreme because [mutter mumble mumble]. See, all wrapped up.
