There's a couple of reasons why the sales are lackluster for this

#1 It's a what if story thats not gonna have any bearing on anything going forward and there's plenty of people that don't like that kind of thing.

#2 There's still some people out there who hate the clone saga and are so traumatized by it so much they're still off in a corner somewhere curled up in the fetal position sucking thier thumbs.

Add to that that Marvel is already predisposed to hate the clone saga and Ben Reilly to begin with that they really are not gonna do anything outside of this and "who was Ben Reilly" arc.

We Clone Saga fans should count our blessings that the Spidey office was gracious enough to throw us a couple bones to begin with

Marvel's making the Clone Saga a big deal in ASM and they've announced reprints. What more do they need to do to indicate a willingness to do stuff with the Clone Saga?

They're reintroducing Kaine back into Spidey's world through a flashback story mostly..........thats not what I would call a big deal.

The clone saga retelling is basically a throw away story and the reprint stuff while welcome should've been done a long time ago considering what a big part of Spidey history it is.

I'm betting even reintroducing Kaine back into ASM was met with a lot of hesitancy due to Marvel's paranoia of the clone saga.

A mini-series, an arc in ASM, and a series of reprints all seem like a big deal to me for a story that hasn't be referenced in fifteen years.

And there's been one issue out of the "Who Was Ben Reilly" arc. It's a little soon to say that Kaine will only be appearing in flashbacks.

I didn't say only AND I don't think it's too much of a leap in logic to assume in a story where we're trying to find out what happened to Raptor/Damon's (Damon is his name right) family that Kaine's involvement will be most significant in the past.

They did say that Kaine would be used in the gauntlet a bit so I guess thats a + for some people but as a whole I just get the sense they're doing all this clone saga stuff begrudingly.

Ah, I misread you. My bad.

You make a valid point, but I still think he's going to have a significant involvement in present as well as the past.
