Cell Phone Etiquette
you know, I just got off the horn with one of my best buddies that I've known for most of my life... I'm sitting here this morning when he calls me up on his cell phone to chat on some stuff... as our conversation is progressing, I'm hearing some peculiar background noises coming from his end but I just ignore it and continue talking...as we're talking, I'm still hearing some noises that I just can't quite identify... after a few more minutes, my friend starts to make some noises himself... specifically he sounds as if he's in discomfort or some kind of pain...
naturally, I got a little concerned thinking that something is wrong with him... it sounds like he's got a bad case of indigestion or something... so I ask him what's up and if he's ok... and you know what he tells me?... that there's no problem and that he's just takin' a crap... I'm like floored that he's doing it as we're talking and that he's telling me about it... which explains all the sound effects that I was hearing during our conversation...so I got immediately pissed off and bitched that what the fuck was wrong with him and couldn't he have just waited till he was done and THEN give me a call... he's asking me what's the big deal and that it was the best time for him to buzz me as he had a bit of free time at that moment... hearing that I was just so pissed I told him straightaway that he was an inconsiderate and rude asshole with no class nor manners and I then hung up on him...he calls back rightaway and now HE'S pissed asking me what's my fucking problem... I tell him that if he doesn't know and can't figure it out, then there's something seriously wrong with his thought processes... I then proceeded to hang up on his ass... he's my best friend and we'll get past this shit, but not this morning... he hasn't called back and I don't plan on calling him back today... my question is, who's at fault here?... him for calling and talking while he's droppin' a load or me for getting all pissed about it and gettin' down on him for it?... are there some cell phone users out there that are such neanderthals that they think it's acceptable and appropriate behaviour and etiquette to do the same kind of thing as he did this morning?... because as far as I'M concerned, if you do, then you're an animal and a pig for thinking like that and acting as such... I thought the only thing that annoy me about some cell phone users are the cretins and imbeciles that I occasionally encounter on public transportation that are just inconsiderate loudmouths who talk in such a loud tone that everyone on the bus is privy to the entire conversation... they just talk extremely loud and laugh even louder and just in general, annoy everyone around them and make traveltime just about unbearable...and the bus driver's reluctance to say something to the offending cell phone user just adds to the frustration... I've gotta say that I ran into this kind of inconsiderate shit a couple of years ago on the bus... it was about an hour ride and this jackass came on the bus going fullbore on the phone... just out and out LOUD and not giving a shit about anything... there's about 15-20 people on the bus... normally, I would tolerate this kind of behaviour, nut up and take it and hope that he would be getting off the phone or the bus soon enough... no such luck... he's sitting about 5 seats behind me and after 20 minutes of him going on and on, it was starting to get to me, so I turned around and I asked him if he could just turn the volume down a bit... after about 10 minutes, I could see that nothing had changed and he just ignored me... so I turned around again and asked him if he could lower it some as he was starting to annoy the other passengers, as some were exchanging looks and shaking their heads... he tells me that if it bothers me so much, then I should get off and catch the next bus... if you know me, then you know that's the wrong response to say to me, especially if YOU'RE in the wrong... I decide to give him 5 more minutes... he just goes on and on... that's it... I've had it... after over a half hour of this, it just got too much and I lost it, so I just turned around , looked him dead square in the eyes and in a VERY loud voice asked him if he would please shut the fuck up... in exactly those words... the next thing he's doing is telling the other person that he's gotta go and he hangs up... I just stare at him for about a minute or so afterwards and then turn around... finally, silence is golden... about 20 more minutes go by and he gets off and I could hear him muttering motherfucker as he's leaving the bus... what's funny is that afterwards I got a thumbsup from some senior citizen lady as I was getting up to leave the bus... the whole point of this is, doesn't anyone have any manners or consideration when it comes to cell phone usage?... is bad behaviour the accepted norm and standard for cell phone use?... has it gotten that bad with some cell phone users that they have to act like the total jerkoffs that they are?... now excuse me while I chill out 'n have some cawfee now...

I have a friend who obviously takes a dump or pee everytime he's on the phone.
It's not just a cellphone thing. It's a him thing. I just carry on and live with it.

Sometimes it's necessary during a long conversation, but you don't have to draw attention to it. Because it is kinda gross, no matter how you look at it. |
