Default Noob's Art & Request Thread

Hey all! I'm pretty new to this board and I wanted to get some of my "art" out there. I'm looking to majorly improve and am looking for my board mates help. First of all, I often run astray of coming up with what to sketch and I'd love for you guys to give me sugestions. I hope to post at least 1 to 2 sketches a week- full time work and school hold a little more precedent- and I'm more than open for comments. Anyways, here are some sketches from the last couple of weeks. Laters!

Hey man, welcome to the boards. Always glad to see new blood coming in.

If you want to dramatically improve your comic art skills you should concentrate on anatomy and perspective exercises. I really wish someone had sat me down years ago and said, "here's a book on perspective, study it, and I will come back in three weeks and test you. If you pass, you get to keep your right leg- if not, I am taking it with this rusty hack saw." Ok, I don't really wish that, but still, really knowing perspective is pretty darned important to getting some respect as an artist.

This stuff is a great start! Mattbib and Jaye post CBRdraw challenges all the time- I look forward to seeing more of your stuff!

Thanks for the comments! I'm now looking for open suggestions of any kind of themes, characters, etc. that my next couple of sketches should be. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Here's something I did at work today. Took about 45 minutes with the Prismacolor shading. I'm a little upset that some of the shading didn't show up too well even after throwing it into Photoshop. Oh well, it's crap anyways but it passed the time.

Since Halloween is around athe corner.....How about a scarecrow with a huge scary jack-o-lantern for a head in a night-time corn field with a sign that says "will scare people for pumpkin pie"....

I know it's weird, but sometimes I roll that way....on square wheels.
