Default LOL. Superhero T-Shirt Day...

So for spirit week, we're doing a different theme for everday this week. Today was superhero T-shirt day, and a lot of kids were wearing capes and such. Most of it was pretty generic, ya know, kids in Superman and Batman shirts and such. But my friend Reg comes in wearing a Gambit shirt, complete with the brown duster, fingerless gloves, and headgear.

It was just too funny, and everyone thought it was the funniest thing ever. And it was surprising to see how many kids actually knew who Gammbit was.

Just thought I'd share.

I wore an Aquaman shirt once.

No one really noticed.

True. But he didn't look much like he does in the comics and such.

I was sporting my Death of the Endless T-Shirt today. Though I had to keep stopping to explain to people that the quote on it WASN'T from MCR it was from Sandman (It was the "You get a lifetime" bit)

Bring back Negasonic Teenage Warhead! Because there are more people who want to see her in the X Books than there are who want to see Jean Grey again.

The X-Men cartoon made Gambit sort a big deal. I didn't know this until I realized a group of kids knew who he was.

But the thing is, that cartoon was around in the early 90's, when most of the kids in our school were toddlers.

It's been repeated a few times though. And he showed up in W&TXM, maybe that's where they recognised him from?

In high school my manner of dress was either Comic Book related shirts or hippie clothes.

For our hippie day I dressed like the man in this picture.

I have no idea how I would have handled a superhero day.

The show is rerun heavily on one of the cable cartoon stations. This is no more surprising than me knowing who Scooby-Doo and Bugs Bunny were at that age.

When I was little I went the whole hog and dressed as a super hero. I had the Wonder Woman bracelets and tiara and wouldn't take them off for a month :)

X-Men: Evolutions was on only a couple of years ago. It wasn't great but it did run for about three seasons and tended to use as many X-Men as they could squeeze in.
