Default Rau Le Creuset (Gundam Seed) vs Char Aznable (Char's Counterattack)

The two antagonists from the two popular Gundam franchise duke it out to see who is the best masked man.

1. A fist fight in the arena.

2. A chess match.

3. A dogfight in space. Creuset has the Providence Gundam, and Char gets his Sazabi moble suite.

Char Aznable takes all three rather handily. In Scenario 3, he absolutely crushes Rau.

The Red Comet is the most skilled antagonist pilot in the whole franchise.

Char by the time of CCA had a HUGE advantage in MS combat in experience over Rau.

I think the opposite is more likely, actually, unless its purely melee. The Providence's beam spam overkill will be too much to handle.

Evil Amuro from 00 would have something to say about that.

Sure, Providence can go for the beam spam. But Char's skilled enough to shoot down the funnels before it can do any serious damage. He has quite a bit of experience dealing with funnels, after all.

As for Ribbons, I'd put him a level or two below Char. He's good, but he's not excellent.

I always counted Ribbons as a good pilot who was made to look awesome because of a kick ass mobil suite.

A scary though just popped into my head.

Char pilots the Providence.

Sure, half a dozen single-barrel units, with no more than two or three firing simultaneously most of the time. A far cry from a dozen units and 45 beam guns all firing simultaneously. I've never seen Char fend off the type of beam meshes that the Providence has been shown to dish out.

Dude was expertly controlling fangs from a million miles away while using another person's body.

When was that?

Incidentally, I'm leaning Rau. Providence is too much for a single pilot in a MS, even one as good as Char.

Should I spot Char the MSN-Nightingale?

1) Rau himself has no real hand to hand combat feats, though coordinators tend to be physically far superior to normal humans.

2) Rau played chess regularly played against Chairman Durandal. From the flashbacks, I get the impression Rau won more often than not. What feats does Char have?

If this is a contest of who's the better strategist though, Char wins comfortably I think.

3) Top tier Gundam Seed Gundams are a league above UC Gundams.

Given that even his MEMORY of Rau was verbally owning him and being awesome, I dare say that's a fair bet.

The Freedom, Justice, and Providence are a league above. The rest, not so much.

Hell, I could see Char taking out the Calamity, Raider, and Forbidden himself. And as for Rau, wasn't he technically an imperfect clone rather then a Coordinator?

Sort of.

But he had some kind of special powers("I can sense your presence."), and given that he fuckstomped Coordinators...
