... Did Liefeld draw this or something? Why does Cassie's right leg look like it's coming out of the floor?

Didn't Cassie lose a toe awhile back? Apparently, gangrene set in, costing her her right leg, & what we're seeing is its detached artificial replacement.

Is that a spoiler? Darn.

It's a cover from the original article (#30, I think), so it can't be any more spoilerish than the article itself. Presumably, if you're reading this thread, you've read the article. :p

Oh, don't worry -- I'm just being a smartass.

It's one of my endearing qualities.

Umm ... right?

I'm just glad to hear Bryan Baugh is only doing 4 issues.

No offense to either him or Tim Seeley (who I know posts here) but he was always just terribly wrong for the book.

One question though, what's the status of the Hack/Slash Annual #2 with the Suicide Girls? Resolicit, or fold it into the ongoing book?

Tim mentioned something about the SG annual #2 being shitcanned because he and SG couldn't see eye to eye on the development, or something.

I'm sure we'll eventually get another non sg annual, and that's for the best since SG is still run by two nutjobs.

My gut reaction (without having seen the new one -- didn't get to my LCS yesterday, & their weekly mail-out indicates that they didn't receive it anyway -- or having Baugh's other issues here at work to look over again) is to agree.

And again, that's no reflection on Bryan's artistic abilities ... I mean, John Severin is my easily all-time favorite artist, but he would've been wrongwrongwrong on, say, Doctor Strange or Superman.

Actually, reaction to Bryan' stuff on the book hasn't been quite as cut and dry. I've had a lot of readers and reviewers comment that they LOVE it and that it fits the book perfectly. But, inevitably, you can't please everyone. I like it a lot. It fits the stories I wrote for him. And Leister will pick up the ball and run with it!

OK -- that's it: You didn't agree with me. I'm dropping the book.

Done!

Well, I mean, obviously I loved Emily Stone on the book. And I think she set the tone and style for the whole series. But, people is people, and sooner or later, they move on to new things. Thus, I picked artists to do arcs that I thought best fit the story until I could get a regular person. I hope people who like the characters and the story stick around despite a few art changes. Also, fuck you, Dan Bailey! ;)

I think I'm supposed to say something like, "It's on, Seeley!"

OK:

"It's on, Seeley!"
