Default Cover Contest: Sept 16 - Sept 22

Next Tuesday is the first day of Autumn.

Looking over GloryQuest's very helpful list of past Cover Contests, I see that we've done specifically Winter and Summer themed contests, plus flower and romance themes which I figure has Spring covered.

So, in celebration of my favorite season, I present to you this week's theme:

FALL Colors

Any cover that prominently features one or (preferably) more of the traditional Fall colors - red, yellow, orange and brown - is fair game this week. Up to you if you want to take it further and make it an explicitly Fall season related cover (such as with my entry) but it's not required.

You know the rules, but here's a quick rundown anyway.

The contest ends Tuesday, whence we vote. You can vote early if you won't be around on Tuesday.

One entry per poster, one cover per entry.

No suggesting covers, people like to pick their own.

Have fun!

Oh, and before I forget, my entry!

When I was a kid I grew to loathe yard work. And of all the different yard chores, raking leaves was the chore I hated the most. I choose to believe that here Donald is not being annoyed by his nephews but by the raking itself, because that's EXACTLY the expression I always had on my face when I was doing it.

To this day I refuse to live in a dwelling with a yard until we can afford to pay someone else to keep it up. Given that I'm a schoolteacher, that will probably be never.

Tough contest this week. (And I'm guessing gary beat about half the entrants to that Mouse Guard cover.)

For well over a year now I've wanted to win a contest in this particular season and run a Fall contest so I could use one of two covers I love. So thanks Donald for giving me the chance to use one. I'll pick...

this one.
