Default Why couldn't the Civil War event have ended like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2?

I know the game is released until tomorrow, but I hear several gamers got the sequel early and they say that the twist is turly unexpected, but also kind of a let down.

So my question is why couldn't the game ending be the ending for the comic book version of Civil War ?

Though I don't know the endings of Ultimate Alliance, we are dealing with a different format. Comics are an on-going medium which was setting a new status quo, while a video game should have a more self contained story with a more definative ending.

Okay the game's finally out today, and if anyone has played it fully I still question which ending is better for Civil war:

The game's ending or the Comic book ending ?

Based on the inet truth yet to be proven the game's ending is great in theory, but poor in execution. The comic book's ending is decompressed so much with a mind for profiteering on how many events that they can sell.

The first had slightly different endings depending on what you've done during the game so it may change from player to player.

Also UA2 doesn't drop in Europe and I persume other PAL countries until next friday so watch the spoiler tags.

Well there is one fact, that seperates the game from the comic and that's the fact that Black Goliath is alive.

Default Compare and Contrast Civil War with the version used in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2...

I mean besides some of the players used in this game, not even being around during the original Comic book event.

How would you judge this version of Civil War with it comic book version ?

To be honest, both actually, and that also includes the "twist" into the orignal story.

Whatever ending they use, you can bet it won't be the one from the comics.

You can't end a 12 or 20 or however long game with a non-ending where people just stop fighting for non-reasons, and have basically "To be continued in about a hundred other comics". Someone has to win. An end boss has to be beaten up in these sort of games.

I have to say the twist to the game was kind of stupid and they could have done better, but you got to admit that final boss fight was kind of cool to look at.

Since you asked....

spoilers:
The So call twist in this game is that the nanites used the controled the super villains in Civil War malfunction and created this Whole technological threat called the Fold.

Nick Fury got a hold of this threat in the midst of the chemical factory battle, that took place in Civil War #3, and recurited us to stop it.

At our first attempt, we were to stop the Nano version of Green GOblin and Venom from placing bombs all over the Chemical plant, we nearly died.

However, we were saved by Fury and his LMD's who later took us to his secret bunker and brought us up to speed. With both sides not willing to listen, it was up to us to save the day.

The plan was to break into the Negative Zone prison and gather a sample of a villain, just before he was injected with nanites. However, we went in after Cap's squad did to cause the N-zone breakout. Which lead to all of the nanite controlled Supervillians to be released, and all heck broke lose.

In the end, Fury and other heroes scarficed themselves to save us, and that brought the two sides together again.

With a new threat to combat with, the SHRA was put on off for now. Soon the Nanites were quickly invading various places across the world, and are now calling themselves the Fold. We were wisked off the Wakanda to assist the Black Panther into fighting the Fold off of his homeland.

Soon, we learn that our deceased friends, Fury included, were also asborbed into the Fold, forcing us to fight them. We later were able to free Green Goblin and Venom and have them to play with.

The final area took place in Iceland, with the plan being of us trying to send out a signal that would jam the Fold Frequency and thereby disabling them and defeating them fully. However after several encounters with more of our former Friends, and another boss fight with the Tinker, we were soon up against ROBO-FURY!!!

The New and improved Nick Fury used holographic version of various heroes and villains strength to fight us. However we were able to over come them and thereby saving the day.

The endings were split to show that the SHRA has been repealed by Congress and the President giving full pardons to the Anti-side heroes or that Congress amends the act and makes Tony Director of S.H.I.E.L.D, depending on which side you chose.
end of spoilers

How's that for Spoilers.

If that doesn't work then click here for the PS3 version of the game fully on the Anti-side of the war...
