I hope this doesn't mean DC's sole purpose now will be to serve as an intellectual property farm for Warner Bros. movie studio.

This just seems to be an attempt by Warner Bros to not be out done by the hype that is following the recent Disney purchase of Marvel. Now granted, this is no where near as mind blowing as Warner Bros has owned DC for a long time. But still, the restructure seems to be in response to Disney providing Marvel with more options for films.

The upside is maybe now we will get some good DC movies worked on other than Batman.

That has been DCs purpose for years now. That is the whole reason why Warner Bros. bought DC in the first place. And I gotta ask...why is that a bad thing?

I doubt it.

I would think it mean they're actually going to fully realize the characters they have. Maybe now we can get that Flash or Wonder Woman movie made. Maybe a better reboot of Superman. Or maybe a Fables series.

From what I've read about this, this has been 2 years in the making....

hey, didn't Levitz say that as long as Joe Q was the EiC of Marvel, they wouldn't do another cross-over?

Could his stepping down mean the return of the Amalgam Universe?

Because not all comics are appropriate for adaptation as big summer tentpole blockbusters. Comics are an art form in themselves... they're not just film storyboards.

But yeah... if this means we see movement on quality TV or film versions of Preacher, or Fables, or Transmetropolitan, or Secret Six... then I'll forget all about my concerns.

Maybe we could even do Birds of Prey right... or get Joss Whedon back on Wonder Woman...

Eh, it's still summer, and I'm daydreaming.

I was just about to post this, actually, but couldn't recall if it was Levitz who said that.

Alas, Disney's involvement with Marvel now probably confounds the situation even moreso than Levitz's personal objections...

I think he meant that as JoeyQ was not interested
