DC clearly has no fear of a little girl-on-girl action amongst minor female superheroes (and villains), but there's nothing similar amongst the males which is odd. Sorry, but here in NYC a bunch of good-looking, muscled guys in skin-tight outfits means a Pride Parade. Now, clearly you're not going to get this from the A or even B-list, so forget about Superman or Batman or even Green Arrow (whose over-compensating womanizing and ornate little goatee screams "I've got a secret! I love you, Hal!"), but what about the lesser lights who weren't going to get their own movies anyway? Surely they can be used for a little lesson in tolerance and diversity amongst the superhero set just like the women are. I mean, it's one Obsidian for how many women? My quick list:
Roy Harper: Yeah, he's trying just a little too hard to prove how straight he is. Booster Gold: He misses Ted more than you'll ever know and regrets not sharing his true feelings. Guy Guardner: Another guy trying just a bit too hard to show what a man he is. Captain Marvel Jr.: No reason. Just always got that vibe from him. Zatara: If he's hiding something, the bitchy attitude is giving it away constantly. Mon-El: The real reason he had to get away from Daxam and why a more understanding 30th Century works for him. Captain Atom: He was actually framed for murder by homophobes who found out his secret. Now in the future, out of military service and superpowered, he won't hide any longer. Anyone else? |

Captain Atom WHAT!??? if it's for fun, yeah i laughed at the post. if you're being serious then you might need to stop reading comics right now. we don't need this here.

Need what exactly? A fun speculation of which male characters might be gay? Why is it that offends you, the gay part? |

you want a father, with many female ex's to come out. - It happens a lot more you you apparently realize. Marvel Jr. there ain't a reason in this world - Not a reason in this world not to be. Zatara, another kid. not right. - Gay people aren't hatched or pop out of pods fully grown. They usually start out as kids. Mon-El. An alien. Period. - Starman is an alien. His boyfriend was just killed. Captain Atom WHAT!??? - What, what?

It amazes me how painfully stupid some people are in terms of homosexuality. You don't think if there are aliens some could be gay? You're willing to accept an alien character but not a gay alien? ok... Ever heard of 'On the Down Low'? Look it up. Adult gay people start out as teen gay people. Just bc they are not officially out doesn't mean they aren't gay. What reasons would there be to be gay? Isn't it just about sexual attraction. There is no reason behind it. It is a special club that people decide to join.

I've supected Zatara from the first time he "spoke". I don't think it would be out of character at all if he were to pull a gay rabbit out of his hat!
![]() I would also suggest Connor Hawke, but that dead horse has been beat already... |

So Zatara actually became this close (:::fingers held 1 cm apart:::) from becoming the first transvestite superhero since Madam Fatal. And frankly, I'm kind of disappointed they never went with it. Do you have any idea how many Dick Grayson/Roy Harper slash 'shippers I know?

So if a guy has stereotypical masculine attributes (Guy, Roy) he's gay. If he has stereotypical gay attributes (Zatara) he's gay.
Somebody's projecting. As somebody pointed out Roy's had a long list of female ex's and is a father. Mon-el has a wonderful romance with Shadow Lass waiting for him in the 31st century. Ultimately, I guess any of these characters could turn out to be gay if some "we're here, we're queer, get used to it" partisan takes over the writing job on any of them, but in the case of Guy, Roy, Mon-El and probably Captain Atom it's quite an about face on their entire history. |
