Default Babies never come when you want them to

So, I spent the entire day at the hospital with a family friend, while she waited for her labor to pick up. No dice. Since the petosin (sp?) didn't work today, they gave her some new drug to soften the cervix; in the morning they'll break her water, give her the epidural, and start the petosin again.

There's a lot of tension between the two families. Fortunately, today everyone kept it under the surface (barely), so no overt drama ensued. I hope tomorrow will go well, but most of all, that mother and baby will turn out just fine.

Gotta get up early to head back down to hospital (it's an hour away) to stay there till I have to come home to meet Finn's bus.

Jae has been great---we've been so tied up with this stuff and other home things, she hasn't gotten to go out much. She's getting with Vera tomorrow. And I can say unequivocally that Jae is a wonderful houseguest and a sweet person. :)

Also, I have a local friend who came in to help with things today---it was her day off. It was nice, knowing while I was at the hospital dealing with various issues and potential drama, that everything here was fine and taken care of.

I'm wiped, gotta get up and do at least some of it again, so I'll say g'nite, folks. If I'm not back on before then, see you at con!

Jae gets to meet the kitties before they go to grandma's for vacation. Then I'm gonna finish packing and take to Panera for dinner probably. Or we'll order in. We'll figure something out.

Troy's leaving later than I am, and going up to the king and queen building near 400... so the plan is that he'll drop her at the MARTA station up there (iirc, it's near perimeter mall) and she'll ride south to lindburgh, so no five pts station for her this time. If we've got the timing right, she'll only have to wait between 5-15 minutes till the time you pick her up.

I hope I have all that right (my understanding of when you're supposed to meet her)---I'm exhausted.

Yep, just let me know when to pick her up since we hadn't ironed that out. I'll pick her up, bring her back here (since I'm just around Piedmont) and get her stuff put up before taking the brats. Five Points is just evil.

*laugh* My cats. They're gonna hang with grandma this week so I don't have to pay 200 like I did earlier this month for boarding. (They can't be housed together.)

She thought you were picking her up around 10:00. They're leaving here around 8:45, so she should be getting on the train around 9:20-9:30, and be at Lindbergh probably a few minutes before 10:00.

Jae and Troy are off! I'm about to leave... I phoned a friend at the hospital and no one else is in the waiting room yet, and mother-to-be is sleeping and not allowing visitors at the moment. So given rush hour traffic, I decided to give it half an hour before leaving... which I'm about to do now.

Y'all have a great day, and hopefully I'll be back on later to announce the arrival of an adorable little girl!

they ended up doing a c-section. Baby is fine, pink and beautiful. I didn't get to see mommy before I had to go home to meet Finn's bus, but so far as I know she's fine too. :D
