I've been on an Essentials reading kick lately. Essential Uncanny #9 and not a bunch of Wolverine Essentials.
Does anyone know why there is no Essential Alpha Flight? Sure it wasn't the biggest seller in history but with John Byrne and Mike Mignola art an Essential would have to sell better than Werewolf by Night or Tomb of Dracula. Is it an anti-Byrne conspiracy? Or is there one in the works?

Could a kind mod edit the title so it's correctly spelled?

I wouldn't necessarily count on Alpha Flight selling better than Tomb of Dracula... ToD had never been reprinted before in any form and was, in a word, awesome. Whereas AF never got much respect, even from their own writer; Byrne has said that no matter how hard he tried, he was never able to make the characters in Alpha Flight interesting to read about.
However, that's not to say I'm against it. I'd imagine the reason you see Werewolf by Night and Marvel Horror Essentials and not AF (yet) is that the horror comics were from the '70s, and thus harder to get ahold of in back issues. Marvel hasn't done too many '80s/'90s series in Essentials yet (Wolverine notwithstanding), with the exception of ones they know will sell like X-Factor, but I'm sure they'll get around to it eventually. -D

I'd also love me some eXcaliber and New Mutants but Marvel's apparently doing them in color.
But since there's no other AF reprints, and since AF is early 80s I'm still kind of surprised it's not getting the essential treatment.
