Default New question thread for Gail.....

Well, after briefly browsing this forum, I noticed that some kind soul started a thread using Gail's answers from the question thread I started on the DC forums a little while ago. Yes, friends, on the "Gail's Got Answers!" thread? Most of those questions in the first post were posted by yours truly. Thus, it seems only appropriate that I continue this fine tradition over here.

The premise couldn't be simpler. This thread is for everyone to post their questions to Gail, in the hopes that she will be both willing and able to answer them. It doesn't seem quite as necesssary here as it does on the DC forums, but I do want to re-iterate what I said on the previous thread. This thread is dedicated to asking questions in the hope that you will receive answers. It is not a critique thread or a battleground for pro-Gail and anti-Gail debate. Check your vitriol at the door, people.

So, I'll go first as always.

Gail, why exactly was Artemis in her Requiem costume in Secret Six? I remember you said once on the DC forum that Smyth had ordered her to be dressed in that costume once she came into his possession. This is just another one of those "have to take your word for it" statements, as this topic was never even addressed in the books.

But, the question is, why would Smyth decide to dress her like that? The obvious answer would be to humiliate her by forcing her to wear something that was once a symbol of pride and power for her. Nevertheless, not too many people ever saw Artemis wearing that costume. However, the whole world saw Artemis wearing the Wonder Woman costume for a time. Wouldn't it make more sense for Smyth to want her dressed in that costume instead? I mean, think of it. "You used to be Wonder Woman. Now, look at you!" If his intent was to break her, what could be a better sight than a former Wonder Woman, in her full Wonder Woman regalia, broken to his will?

Am I reading too much into this? Is there a deeper meaning to resurrecting that costume aside from the fact that it looks awesome on her? Also, now that Artemis has returned to Themiscyra, she has the option of changing clothes. Is it your intention to keep her in that costume for now?

Okay, this isn't content-specific stuff, but it's been on my mind. I realize you're not going to reveal things that are still in play, either:

1. Do you receive your inspiration for your content from things you read in general, epiphanies you have, or more ethereal resources (like a Ouija board)?

2. How long is it from conception to publication?

3. If DC said, "Gail, you need to write a reboot of Wonder Woman" and you had carte blanche: (a) would you? (if not, why not?) and (b) if yes, what would you change from the beginning? [I realize you may not be able to answer this if ideas you'd use are coming into play.]

1.) Gail, so, you've gone ahead and ended the Diana/Nemesis relationship. So, clearly you don't think that Tom was right for Diana. I'm curious, do you have plans to introduce a love interest of your own for Diana any time soon? Obviously, I'm not gonna ask you to risk your job for us, so, if you're not allowed to say, I understand. But if you can even give us a simple "yes" or "no", no other details needed.

2.) If you answer "yes" to question #1, then you can pretty much disregard this question if you like. If, however your answer to question #1 is "no" and you don't have any immediate plans to give Diana a love interest, then perhaps you may satisfy my curiosity. What is your idea of the ideal mate for our Diana? What would you say Diana's ideal companion should be like?
