As crazy as it is, Sighphi is right about the toy.

If BP is going for $100 that actually means the figure was under-produced because they didn't see any demand for it.

As someone who wishes he could collect the DC Universe Classics line and spent a good deal when I was younger collecting Marvel Legends, it's usually the obscure characters no one knows who end up going for a lot of money. Sort of like how Robot Man is going for $40 on Ebay right now.

That was a point of view about certain people. Saying that Ghost Rider is at it's height now is extremely erroneous. Even with another film coming out, being in a video game which he was FEATURED ON THE COVER! Several toys, it's own movie toy line........................wait.

Yeah, I get your argument in that BP has much more overall exposure at this point than before. That makes sense.

I'd say that is insulting an presumptive. Unless you have proof that the people you're talking about don't know anything beyond the new stuff about these characters.

and don't you think the added publicity of the character from more toys, and media appearances is going to boost the popularity of the character to SOME degree?

And with more exposure the popularity of a character is bound to rise. Appearing in Cartoon's and Video games puts the character into the view of those who don't and probably never will buy a comic.

I think you are confusing opportunity with popularity.
These characters have been given some opportunities and you think that this is because of popularity but this isnt so. This is just some one saying, "Lets make this with that."

Wesley Snipes tried to make a BP movie since the early 90s but that never ended up happening. You think that BP was popular in the early 90s which explains why a movie was in the process of being made? No. It was just an opportunity. It's not until we see the results that you can claim popularity.

The Ghost Rider film made some cash but the movie sucked and most folks tell you that. Hell, there were people here saying that they knew the movie was going to be sucky but they went to help future comic movies yet to be made.

You have to wait and see the results to actual "see" the popularity of a character.
