The downside, of course, is that Yankees fans tend to be insufferable even when they don't win, so tomorrow promises to be the worst day ever.
Funny... My Dad's a Mets fan, but he was going FOR the Phillies!

But when they lose..or gasp don't make the playoffs it will be sweet. I'm a Mets fan and as much as I hate the Phillies, a Philly victory would have kept it in the NL. When I did watch the games I would root for them both to lose.

Yeah, I know some people who did that, and I suppose it's because we don't have to deal with Phillies fans on a daily basis, but still, they're the division rivals. The more they win, the more money they will have to maintain a better team, and the harder they will be to beat. I don't want them to win anything ever.

Oh, officially I was rooting for a natural disaster, but if it didn't work in '89...

It would have been nice last year, with the Yankees not even making the playoffs, if it wasn't completely overshadowed by my crushing disappointment. As bad as it is to see the Mets have such an awful season and see the Yankees have such a good one, this year was a lot better on my nerves.

So what does Joe Girardi do to "celebrate" winning the World Series? He stops to help a woman involved in a car accident.

Wow ....thats a great story. To me Giradi deserves the ring and the props for this. If I'm Hank Steinbrenner I give the dude a bonus . Because not only does he get you a 27th championship , he gets positive media coverage.

And Girardi is the 2nd coach to get involved and help a situation. Former Chicago Bulls HC , Tim Floyd at a Casino over the weekend stepped in between 2 women who were gonna tear the place apart in a fight. Floyd stood between them calming the situation down .

I'm a Texas Rangers fan and although they're generally steady enough in their own division, they have a stinky playoff record.

I lost a lot of interest after A-Rod left because I felt he was the only player capable of major success at the team and the Rangers needed to build rather than letting him go.

I keep hoping that one season the team will play well and get lucky in the playoffs.

I also support the Detroit Lions, who totally suck but at least when Barry Sanders was around they could at least dream of success.
