1) I think we'll see Barbara's attitude change in the issues ahead. I recommend giving this some time; they're telling a story here.
2) Since this book is about Stephanie and not Cassie, they simply got the latter out of the way quickly so they could go ahead with the the former's story. There is obviously more to Cassie's story than what we see here, but I don't think the follow-up will appear in this title. We'll probably have to wait until whatever project they have planned for her in 2010.

You assume they have plans. She was leading "the Network" or some version of the outsiders a few months back. Then DC changed paths and left Cassie out in could. Very wrong.

I'm not sure how you can say leaving Cassie out was "wrong." She's not a real person, you know. You could say it was disappointing, but wrong? That sounds like a moral judgment and I don't think it applies here.
