there was a story one time where Batman Saved another version of his parents and Bruce who was a brat to that point was so blown away by the man who saved his parents he startedto study harder and wrok out all the time. Hinting at him being on the road to another batman.
I would assume Bruce would be a doctor if he lived a normal life maybe he become a hero due to somethine else. I can still see him taking in Dick Grayson assuming he is still there when the graysons are killed. The DCU could evolve in any number of ways maybe someone else becomes the cornerstone Batman was. Someone like the Atom or Green Arrow. Last edited by celticguy; 09-09-2009 at 02:59 PM. |

Plus, Batman is way too detached from the metahumans to have that kind of influence on them |

Thomas and Martha Wayne's philanthropy would have continued on unabated, so in some respects Gotham might actually have been better. While Bruce as Bats still continues this work, a heckuva lot of money is diverted clandestinely to his bat-toy development, that otherwise would have gone to a charity or hospital somewhere.
And someday, there's a story with an IRS auditor who identifies the dummy corporations and backdoors used funnel those funds, and pegs Bruce Wayne as a money launderer...

DC without Batman is as wrong as coughing without sound
Batman & Superman both are main stones in the foundation of DC universe, they are classic, never left and they affect other titles too Batman in more particular raised three Robins, two of them are important as members of the "Teen Titans" and this makes Batman a link with other characters, he is the aorta of DC universe |

But anyway: Waynes live, continue their philanthropy, throw political weight behind honest politicians and cops; Gotham is much improved during Bruce's formative years; Bruce is still a genius and natural athlete, probably becomes valedictorian and multi-sport collegiate athlete at Princeton, Yale, Harvard, or DCU equivalent like Ray Palmer's Ivy; could potentially become a hero anyway with an origin like a cross between the original Mr. Terrific and Superman's (the latter because I don't see him wanting to commit suicide out of boredom); could go into law and compete with Harry Dent for DA position; could fund JLI instead of Maxwell Lord. All kinds of possibilities. |
