If Bruce comes back ,they really shouldn't have Dick be Nightwing again.

I just think that will be like punching him in the groin.
That would be twice that he's had to go back.

Assuming the "Knights End" continuity is still in place.

Not to say Nightwing isn't cool,or anything.
But,come on,really?

I would think Dick would be fed up.

No, he's not.

He's PRETENDING.

Only one man had the unique set of circumstances, drive, mission, and passion to be THE Batman, and that's not Dickie Grayson.

If you understood comic book history, you'd realize that neither Superman or The Batman are legacy heroes. Nor will they EVER be such.

The same is true for Steve Rogers, though to a lesser degree.

It's always fun/interesting for a time to make these changes, but they're only exercises in trying "to keep things interesting."

If you really want to keep things interesting, don't kill off Bruce Wayne/The Batman. Get hack writers like Grant Morrison away from the character, keep Dini and similar writers on, and find some new writers who aren't so arrogant that they believe they are somehow above a character that they have to kill him/replace him to make him interesting.

I haven't liked a lot of Morrison's stuff, but I would NEVER call him a hack writer. I think that's completely unfair and wrong.

Why do you keep saying "if Bruce comes back"? DC has already (some months ago) revealed that he'll be found and brought back by next summer.
Although, they haven't said he's going back to the cowl.

To me it's not as much of punching him in the groin then placing him back in the sidekick role that he grew up out of, like, a decade ago. So I personally don't see it as a problem

I'm just saying, that's twice where he's (Dick) had to be Batman, then just step down as him.

Then again, nobody ever really forced him to be Batman this time.

I would say the exact same to you, comic history would suggest Batman is a legacy character from him being mortal, having side kicks, Batman M and the fact, Dick Grayson IS Batman, a different Batman but he is Batman.

And how can you say he'll never be a legacy character? He's not real, if a writer opts to make a new Batman and they say he's the new Batman, then that's that.

This new character will have the name, but will NOT be the true Batman.

An example for comparison: James Bond has a son, also named James Bond. Same name, but impossible that he is the same person.

Same here. The traits, experiences, and motivations and circumstances that create THE BAT-MAN are unique to one man and one man only: Bruce Anthony Wayne.

Thus, there will only ever be ONE true Batman.

Anyone else will be a pretender and a lie.

The same applies to Superman. Others may take that name or the same crusade, but they'll never be the ONE true Superman.

I really don't think I can convince you of my way of thinking but I see Batman as being more fluid than requiring someone with all the exact traits of Bruce Wayne. All that fundamentally has to be maintained imo is the Bat theme and what the person stands for. If there is no other Batman at the time, I find anyone who wants to be Batman while maintaining those two traits to be THE Batman.

That's why I find Dick Grayson to be THE batman, or perhaps, a more true, better Batman than Bruce (I don't know yet). It's why I also find Batman M to be just as true (and borderline unarguably better) Batman than Bruce.

Plus, Bruce knows Batman will be a legacy, he says Tim Drake is one of the candidates to take over for him after he dies along with many other examples of lines like this.

And how can you say the traits, experience and motivations are unique? Dick Grayson had his parents murdered, he has the same experience and has, when necessary, similar traits.
