You know, now that I've had time to really think about it, I wonder if perhaps the present storyline has rekindled interest in Knightfall, or maybe some of the comic shops are trying to renew interest to sell back issues.

That's an interesting piece of trivia. I had heard that the 1943 Batman serial was the first time any sort of Bat Cave was used, although it was more of a secret room than an actual cave. Also apparently that series, in turn, had taken it's inspiration from the 1920 silent feature The Mark Of Zorro starring Douglas Fairbanks, in which Zorro had a secret entrance to his father's house, complete with a secret staircase which Zorro ascended and Don Diego Vega emerged at the top, and vice versa of course.

I guess you could send it in to CGC graders. They would encapsilate it and give it a grade. It would then go in their census. Thats the closest you can find for registering a comic that I know. Cost to grade a comic though. Not cheap.

That copy of batman # 500 must have been signed by Quesada or someone else to drive the price up to 60.00. Was it CGC's 9.8?

I got Batman #500 in a lot from eBay, wasn't much at all.
What I want to see is a mint Batman #1 from 1940. Didn't someone offer like half a million for it, but no one could come up with one? |

I suspect that "no one could come up with one" referred to a mint copy, rather than a copy per se.

Also, Batman #5 in the condition listed above (2.0 - 5.0 grade) is worth $640. And i hope someone buys that copy on ebay for the Buy-It-Now price, because they could probably make ten times their money back from the right buyer. |
