Who was Falcone? Was that when Batman comes inside the club and is fighting off people? I know he's not Eric Roberts' character.

I think there were a lot of tense moments in TDK. I didn't know that they would kill off Rachel Dawes or that Joker set up the judge, DA (or was it the mayor?) , etc.

I don't think that the two boat scene was tense at all, because I couldn't see them killing a boat full of people, and Batman was in for a W in his column at that point in the movie. Still, I really wanted it to happen, just for a change.

TDK even shocked me when one of the fake Batmen was hung and he was swung off the building. I also loved the video of Joker when he held the fake Batman hostage. That was creepy.

OK, so maybe to get some idea if this movie could be overrated, what's your score for the film? IMDB now has it at 8.9 for user reviews. I go for a solid 9.0

Eric Roberts was Maroni.

Yeah [sir] I did watch the movie. Maybe I didn't retain every little bit of information from it because I rent 8 films a week and I don't own TDK, so maybe I need a bit of a refresher.

Ah, yeah, someone brought him up and I automatically assumed it was a character from TDK he was referencing.

Now I realize that his comment held no weight on whether TDK was good or not.

I really think Falcone would be useful in a third Batman film...

Or Sofia and her brother perhaps.....

Word to the doubters and contrarians -

No one really compares TDK to the Godfather. A few hyped up fans made the comparo around the time of the release.

The reason for the crime movie comparison justification is twofold -

1. Nolan himself was inspired by Michael Mann's filmmaking, Heat specifically.

2. Replace Batman and the Joker with a well-equipped private detective/vigilante and a crazed terrorist and what do you have?

A Crime Movie Thriller with Terrorisim Elements.

Hence why those who see past the hype and hoopla, and the immediate character forms, can see the underlying structure of the film. The short-sighted simply get caught up on the dress-up parts.

TDK and BB are two seperate animals there Hammer, a character in Begins has little to do with my assertation about the The Dark Knight.

Was he? I don't see that. He didn't even play it like an Italian. He played it like he was Gotham"s' biggest Mob boss....... because he was. He got over confident, didn't think anyone could take him down, and then Batman did. If anything, it was Maroni who was stereotypical by playing the exact same part in TDK. There should have been a hint of fear about Batman because his predecessor had been taken down by him. I wish the Hammer would explain his argument. I want to understand why he thought it was stereotypical, if that was even the complaint.

I don't know if Maroni was afraid but you could tell he took Batman into account in actions, as the Joker described 'I know why you have your [meetings] during the day, I know why...etc]

Overrated as in "One of the best movies ever"---I guess

Overrated as in "One of the best comicbook movies ever"---Not a chance

To me, note I said "TO ME", the only comicbook movies that stand up to it is XMen 2, Spiderman 2, Blade and Oldboy (even though I saw the twist coming a mile away, and I'm not good at seeing these things)

not really, the movie itself was superb. And Heath was the best part of it> I will say that even if he is alive today. Its simple fact. This is the best superhero movie so far and the best movie last year.
