"Streets Of Gotham" will sell more than what "Manhunter" ever died. The reasoning being that Batman sells more than Manhunter. If he can develop a high enough fanbase through a Batman book, then when the time comes, they can try another solo book and thus maybe it'll go a little better. Maybe making it to issue 100.

Unlike the previous revivals, there's actually a logical reason to think this one will succeed. I don't know if it will ever lead to Kate headlining her own book again, but Streets of Gotham ought to be successful given Dini's success on Detective, so it will expose the character to more readers.

And there are probably some readers, like myself, who will buy it because of the co-feature. With the glut of Batbooks upcoming, I might have passed on it otherwise.

Which is highly ironic that Manhunter fans like you and me are picking up a Batman comic because of Manhunter

It also show that Didio and co are smarter than you think. They get the usual Batman fans and the Manhunter fans that was dissapointed with the cancelation.

You know as good as Manhunter may be, I think Marc Andreyko needs to move onto doing other mainstream books.

Seriously, I want to see him on other stuff.

Why?

If he flat out went and started writing non-big-two, non-company-owned stuff I'd be just as happy. I like his work. Adding Superman would do nothing to up that.

There's also history of Manhunter backups in Batman titles. The classic Goodwin/Simonson Manhunter story was a backup in Detective Comics

I just think that given what he's written before and the usual strength of his writing that he could do a lot more books that I would probably be interested in.

I don't think he should only keep going back to Manhunter because he's not really stretching out and making himself as well known to people. I'm not saying that he should go out and immediately do Batman or Superman, he can just as well do a book like a R.E.B.E.L.S. or Shadowpact but he's mostly sticking to a hardcore niche.
