Wow, and I thought I was a heavy handed mod on my board. You guys banned Petroclas pretty quick. I'm going to stop putting up with crap in my house.

Anyway, I agree that Black Mask will be the one mystery left to solve. I felt from the beginning that the Black Mask storyline was more likely seeding the bat universe for future stories than being set up to get resolved at the end of BFTC.

I'm starting to think that the new Black Mask is actually the Riddler.

As for Batgirl, I really hope it isn't Barbara. First off, death is already a non-threat in the DCU. If bodily harm also became a non-threat, then why wouldn't every hero jump in front of a bullet? It's not like you won't get healed or come back next week in a Geoff Johns special.

I'd like to see Cassandra Caine being directed by Barbara Gordon/Oracle. The two would make an awesome team.

Hadn't even noticed it. What did he do that was ban-worthy?

Ban-evasion. I know him as mr.brighteyes, but I think he was someone even before that.

Anyway...so this won't be about Cass?

We don't even know anymore. It was said that Cass wouldn't be part of the Bat Family after Battle for the Cowl, but DC might have changed direction.

When he gets banned he seems to immediately create another name. I've lost count as to which one that one was. He always outs himself by the thumbs up/down thing and by being aggressive to folks with an opinion contrary to his.

I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to derail the thread by talking about the banning. I thought it happened cause he spammed Commissioner Gordon.

I still think it would be best if Oracle worked behind the scenes while Cass was in the uniform.

I'm positive it didn't help, but moving on...

Barb as a mentor and Steph as the best friend/partner would be awesome.

I agree, it seems that DC may have changed their minds on the Batgirl deal, since it was revealed they had only recently come to some descions about the whole thing. I hope they have anyway, Cassandra is too good a character to throw away, she's very much salvagable.

That would be great, kind of a 'good ol days' kinda thing, which I miss, since the Batgirl series ended.

It seems like about month ago that they were still figuring out (or changing) what they were going to do with Batgirl. Basing that on this entry from Batman Editor Michael Marts at the DC blog The Source:

Computer’s on, the day begins… 45 emails overnight, argh. Start with the easy ones first. No, wait—Executive Editor Dan DiDio is pulling the Bat Group down into his office for an urgent meeting. Topic: BATGIRL.

Just emerged from Dan’s office. Decided the fate of several characters. As usual, we created more questions then we set out to answer, but hey—that’s the fun part of the job. I’m surprised we ended up where we did, but WOW. Can’t wait to actually start on the title.
Seemed like they had a direction ironed out at the recent Cons by saying Cassandra wasn't going to be around and what not. But who knows, maybe they just flipped everything up.
