Default Catwoman in Arkham Asylum?

I've really been trying to figure this out lately, and the internet has been no help at all (unsurprisingly) thus far. I'm hoping someone here knows the answer to this question.

Has Catwoman/Selina Kyle ever ended up in Arkham Asylum? I'm speaking strictly of post-Crisis Selina Kyle. I'm mostly wondering if she ever ended up in Arkham in canon, but non-canon stories are also welcome. I have never seen her there, in all my years reading Catwoman and my short time reading the Batman titles, but I may have just forgotten.

I can't see why she would. Selina's perfectly sane.

That's what I thought, and I love that she's the one "villain" from the Batman world (and I use the term villain very loosely) to never be put away. But I was just having a....shall we say minor disagreement with someone at my local comic shop who swears up and down that Selina has been in Arkham as an inmate, though he couldn't tell me a single specific instance. I was really just making sure.

In canon, unless you count the hallucination she had of being an inmate in Devin Grayson's run, she's never been an Arkham inmate. She once was put in the same prison as Harley Quinn, but that wasn't Arkham.

She was an Arkham resident at the Elseworlds mini The Nail, if that counts at all.

Yep, officially, Catwoman has never been in Arkham. Mainly because she was never captured long enough to be considered for admission into Arkham, and Selina has all of her mental facilities. Every Arkham inmate is someone who has been driven insane. The Penguin was in Arkham briefly, but since 1992, he's only ever been in prison or out on the street. But Selina was a theif before putting on the costume and that was only to disguise herself so she wouldn't be captured. As well as the fact that she likes cats and seeing as how Batman used his costume and namesake to get the job done, she felt it would be an even match. Had Bruce not put on the costume, she would've still been a theif.

Makes sense to me, but I'm sure I've seen Penguin at Arkham at one time or another.

yeah me too, usually in thoughtless little cameos in throwaway stories. writers use the Arkham setting and figure you may as show off the "classic villains" in their cells. an understandable mistake i guess

As mentioned before, he was sent to Arkham for a more or less short while around the start of Batman's career. The Catwoman: Year Two arc has Penguin talking about his stay at Arkham. That's long left in the past now, though.

Wait... I thought she did go to Arkham at one point. I could be wrong but I think she was like falsely put there after some crazy stuff.

Well, that's not necessarily true because she was caught (in 2000) and was sent to the Cinque Center, not Blackgate.

You could be thinking of the Cinque Center arc. Selina was sent there, and Harley Quinn was in the cell next to her. She manipulated Selina into going crazy (with the help of Scarecrow fear toxin that was dormant in her system). Selina developed a split personality upon escape and believed she was her sister Maggie. Harley made Selina kidnap Commissioner Gordon, which was why Catwoman was the prime suspect in his shooting.

Terrible, terrible arc by Bronwyn Carlton. I don't recommend it. It's also why Selina working with Harley in Gotham City Sirens doesn't sit right with me.
