You know, you're right! Batman was at the bottom of the building. How did the Joker and his cronies get out of the building? Hmmmmm.....if it were a real life situation (I know its not) and a terrorrist was in the building you'd have a hostage situation...immediately taking you to the end of the movie!

The totals on the DK don't account for inflation. The value of the dollar in 2008 is not the same as it was in 1997.

In order for TDK to really catch up to The Titanics numbers, it needs to make another 400 million dollars. And I don't see that happening given the fact that the DVD is out. By the way the highest grossing film of all time is 'Gone With the Wind'.

Now, when I see post like this, I myself laugh.

"Oh look, I'm the only person who knows what inflation is... I'm a genius"

My goodness, get your head out of your own. And your "numbers" hold no real merit, just conceptual numbers.

That has always been my problem with the movies. They go by gross and not by tickets sold, like music does with soundscan. It's silly to me, but I would much rather have this movie at the top then Titanic.

Surely the amount a movie grosses, rather than ticket sales, is a better indication of how successful financially a film has been?

I don't think so. With movie prices and crowds I think most people would rather just stay home then go see a movie then can rent/download.

Plus, I think the Golden Globes passing over this completely is a really good sign that the Oscars will skip it too, which is good because this is not an Oscar worthy film by any stretch of my imagination. But who knows, they may be desperate enough for ratings that they'll pull a PR stunt and give this flick a bunch of undeserved nods.
