The info dump is only a "fix" if the mistakes people are griping about are the specific plot holes covered by that info dump. But if what they are more concerned about is a writer who doesn't understand the character, then putting a band aid on specific earlier manifestations of that problem isn't fixing it. The problem is his lack of understanding overall, not any single example of it. And the evidence that he still has the problem is that he continues to write the character in a way that doesn't show a functional understanding of her. The specifics vary, but the problem is the same.

It had no point. It was a futile attempt to reconcile the real Cassandra Cain with the generic Dark Vigilante Ninja Who Is Nothing Like Cass At All character Beechen wants to write about.

Fixing his mistakes would have been admitting they were mistakes, and then you know, fixing them. Undoing th damage rather than compounding the mistakes by trying to retcon in that they aren't mistakes at all.

Where did Beechen (or Beechan as some posters call him) say that he didn't understand Cass?

It's something you can observe in his writing. The first time he wrote Cass it was obvious he never read a single comic with her in it.

Maybe he decided Mad Dog and Co were silly villains? I know I did.

What does that have to do with deciding Cassandra knew how to read and write in two different langauges? Or suddenly revealing that Cassandra hated her father? Or all the other things that he got wrong?

You hate the last arc of the main series. Fine. But even if it was crap, it's no excuse for an even worse arc done with no research whatsoever.

Bulls eye! My thoughts exactly.

Is your theory that the only time someone doesn't understand something is if they SAY they don't?

Reality check: people don't usually admit they don't understand something. In fact, they frequently fight tooth and nail to convince people that they DO, when they don't. It's pride. Or in Beechen's case, perhaps a combination of pride and not wanting to lose his job.

Or indifference. I doubt Beechen wants to destroy Cass' character, he just wants a pay check.

That said, I'm confident his handling of her character will haunt him and I certainly wouldn't complain if it affected his ability to get more titles in the future. If he's not going to put any effort into his story telling, why should he get our money?

I just hope that he pulls out a miracle at the end of Batgirl 6 to make everything 100% better. If he does, then I will forgive him, as would other fans likely. He will be OK in my book, but he shouldn't write Batgirl again.
