No spoilers here or anything new just thought fellow UK Bat-fans might be interested in the fact that RIP has made it into the mainstream press on this side of the pond.

Just to add that news of the dark knight's demise seems to be spreading everywhere - my particular favourite is this one from the Daily Express.
The highlight - em spoiler i suppose... "There are rumours that Batman will suffer an appalling fate when his sidekick Robin goes over to “the dark side” and destroys him in a terrible betrayal." What a load of utter BS. This is the crap reporting we have to put up with from the self proclaimed 'world's greatest newspaper.' source: http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/...man-killed-off |

Not that hard to beleive considering the shades of grey occuring with Spoiler and Red Robin in Tim's own title...and Stephanie is acting on Bruce's orders, so maybe Tim's "turn" is just more of Bruce's "back up systems" kicking in to prepare a successor.

This is the sort of PR DC are after. This is the main reason they do these kill off the big character storylines I reckon, not out of any proper dramatic concern for the character.

I agree to an extent that DC's priority is to make as much money as possible but if it was solely a commercial reason then surely they wouldn't do it just after the success of TDK - surely they would have such a dramatic storyline when Batman had been out of the headlines for a while and they really needed the attention. Batman is DCs biggest selling comic so it wasn't a forced move in desperate attempt to increase sales. Plus anyone who does pick up 681 will be completely lost if they haven't read anything else in Morrison's run and therefore if it was solely for PR purposes surely they would have made it a more accessible story.

you havent' been reading the run if you don't think that a psychological breakdown of the character is in process.
