I loved Jaime getting the cat out of the tree. And bonus points for using Paco.

Me too. I kind of prefer the old '60s style Caped Crusader over his newer, broodier versions. This version of Batman very much reminds me of the one from the Showcase Presents Batman books who's always getting in and out of death-traps and stuff.

Green Arrow was voiced by James Arnold Taylor.

I was hoping they'd stick with one version of Batman (early days) as they did with the Green Arrow, then they whacked us with the new Blue Beetle. I felt it was a bit confusing. The whole thing did have a Sprang feel to it, so why not stick to that, and immerse it in those earlier times? (Wouldn't appeal to the kiddies they're after I suppose... this thing screamed of an action figure line from the minute it started).

I still to this day love the West Batman, and so enjoyed this lighthearted approach to the character. But what the heck is up with Bats having his own personal light saber in the utility belt? They need to reign that sort of thing in.

PLUS... I liked most everything about the animation, except the staccato "still shots" of BB taking on Kenja Ro... that to me screamed Drabonball Z, and I hate that crap.

...And here I thought "The Batman"'s version of Bats was lighter then the Timmverse version already.

Look, I'm all for making Batman less of a jerk and all, but is reverting him back to Adam West levels really the solution?

I'll give this show a try, but I'm hoping they don't camp it up so much...

from what i remember
brave and the bold comics were a 60's-70's thing
it only makes sense that we have the batman that appeared in those comics on the show
it's kinda why they'd use the name....you'd think

they told you what you were getting into before the show even started

I think the imagery and the preview clips set up the 60-70s thing. Anyone surprised once the show debuted... I don't get.

I liked this. Its fun for children (don't complain about that, remember we had awesome Saturday morning cartoons) and some nice touches for us older fanyboys.

I liked it... plus it kept my 3month-old son's eyes fixed for at least 10 min... that counts for a lot to me.

I don't understand why we can't have a light- hearted Batman cartoon as long as we still get a serious Batman in the comics and movies.

It's not like we haven't had a serious Batman in the cartoons so it doesn't bother me if the kids have something they like .

Besides the way DC cartoons have been going this wont last more than two or three seasons tops.

Every time a new Batman show premieres, the reaction is mixed. The 70's show with Bat-mite, the 90's show (remember the title, BATMAN:THE ANEMIC SERIES? in Mad Magazine), The Batman, now this. Personally, I wish I had CN, but it's on the overpriced Family cable package, so I don't get to see it until WB cranks out one of those dvds that have 3 or 4 episodes.

I always liked the blue costume, especially when Jim Aparo drew it in the B&B books.

Damn straight. I'm sick of Batman as DC's official 'emo kid'. It's tedious when some middle class teenager is doing it, and it's even worse when it's someone you're supposed to think of as a hero is doing it.

This has been my gripe for awhile. Batman's strength is his diversity. Diversity of story, diversity of tone. We've had grim and gritty psychological angst for breakfast, lunch and dinner since the late 80's.
Time for something different.

It's not THE solution. Good stories is THE solution... but really, can a bit of lighthearted fun be all that bad?

I loved The Dark Knight.

I also loved the first episode of this show. It was... what's the word... delightful! Batman was a great mentor-type character, and there was enough humour and action to keep me interested. I thought it was miles ahead of The Batman, although obviously not quite as good as BTAS... yet.

Much better than I expected it to be, silver age fun but without the silver age dialog. Some of Bats' gadgets were a bit far fetched, but overall this simply for kids as I thought it would be.

Still getting use to Bader as the voice, but he was fine I guess. I kept waiting for him to tell Beetle to "check out channel 9, the breast exams!".

I think it's possible to be more campy than the Adam West show with the god awful dialogue.
