I'd be impressed if you could solve mystery with too many red herrings and contradicting clues. Or did I mean plot holes...

Yp. The thing is unsolvable. There are exellent clues pointing to pretty much every single character appearing in the book, and none at all towards the actual culprit (well, the original culprit, as there were at least three Holidays).
