this is pretty much the exact reason Dr. hurt gives as his motivation for going after Batman. And, as far as "being there from the beginning" Darkseid would have been as he is falling back through time so he could have conceivable been there from the beginning.

What if the zurr en arr that Bruce sees on the Bat computer is in actuality the antilife equation and Batman was Darkseid's first choice as a human host only Batman had already prepared for an attack by having the Batman of Zurr En Arr personality already in place.

Now THAT'S a neat idea -- and highly plausible!
