In my mind, she's been replaced by Owlgirl from Earth 3. All it'd take to put the character back on track is a Monitor showing up to desintegrate the imposter.

Or at least, that was all it would take before Beechen compunded his errors and dragged Cass's entire history into question.

'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."

To me the best notions are either:

1.) If Final Crisis ends in another reality reboot (really, do we know for sure?) then take advantage of that and retcon her back to where she was a few years ago.

2.) Otherwise, simply IGNORE anything Beechen has written. I know a lot of people HATE this kind of retcon, but sometimes its the best way. Just act like none of it ever happened. It's far from the best way, but its better than any attempt explaining all of this. Periods from most of the major superheroes have been treated this way, so why not with Cass?

The important thing is don't let Beechen's new status quo with her stand. I don't know what he plans for the final issue, but whatever it is its sure to suck (heck, I only just saw THIS issue today, standing in a comic book store laughing at it with the store owner--who didn't blame me for not wanting to buy it).

BTW: I didn't think the "Cassandra doesn't say anything while that other girl slaughters girls like cattle" situation people have complained about here could POSSIBLY be as bad as people have been saying... but I admit now it really is. For that matter, even Ravager probably would say something in better writing hands. Then again, they've made her "evil" again in other books, so who knows.

Seriously, as much as I hate to use the "all a dream" retcon. Yea lets have Cass wake in a hospital and everything from her turning evil on forward was a bad dream.

Hell, I'd be happy with Mephisto appearing and cutting a deal with her for a hard retcon.
