Robin: Previous runs where Beechen, Thomas and Dixon. Beechen is a talentless hack, his arc started the "evil cass" nonsense I skipped Thomas so I have no opinion milligan was on for 2 issues during a crossover so his contribution is minimal Dixon was pretty good, brought back Spoiler. the current Nicienza run is a spiritual continuation of it in my eyes. Nightwing: Jones and Wolfman. Hated hated hated Jones' run with a passion. Wolfman was doing a very good run around the level of Tomasi's run. he had a good handle on the character (which would be obvious since Wolfman made dick Nightwing) and had some good arcs nicienza was on for 2 issues during a crossover so his contribution is minimal Last edited by Seraku; 10-05-2008 at 12:52 AM. |

I finally picked up Nightwing and added it to my pull list. The character always held a fascination for me. Essentially the coming of age character who grew up to be a hero under the tutelage of a mentor. That is Nightwing in a nutshell. Even though this arc occurs after RIP, I still wonder what his fate will be during battle of the cowl. Not to cross thread or comic enterprises, but Dick would do wonders and truly have a chance to shine if he were set up right to take the Dark Knight's place. I enjoyed the interaction between dick and Two-face in this last issue. And realizing that TwoFace really is a dick, regardless of which side flips the coin. I hope Grayson is up to fill the shoes he is set to fill, especially against such a formidable gallery, plus the ones he has built up himself under the NW guise. I feel for the guy, despite being a 2D character in a comic. To get beat up as often as he has been lately brings a certain tangible element of fear to the table. He is the down to Earth guy faced with insurmountable odds, facing down personal tragedy but maitaining a rather positive outlook on conflict.

Sounds like now is the time to be reading then. Both Nightwing and Robin.
All i can say about the first 3 issues of Nightwing is wow. I was really surprised when they killed the girl in distress. Making this a great 3-part story. Now we'll have Two-Face taking out his revenge next issue. I also love how Two-Face is no longer aware of his other's personality, far worse than being bipolar. I know when I read a good comic book. This was a great comic. Last edited by ANewHope; 10-06-2008 at 08:30 PM. |

In my mind he's giggling his ass off as he types, "Then Jason becomes the monster who swallows people whole..." The same way Miller was laughing when he wrote, "I'm the goddamned Batman."

I go by the assumption that all Nightwing/Batgirl/Robin (since all 3 were based in Bludhaven at the time) supporting character we have not seen again for no given reason died when the city blew up

Aw, I kinda liked Dudley Soames. Nite-Wing, however, I hope died in radioactive fire. |
