A brief visit from the rain couldn’t keep fans away from the Northwest's largest comics convention last weekend, with thousands of fans gathering at Emerald City ComiCon. We've got a wrap-up of the event with loads of photos.

Taking pictures of pre-teen kids is a violation of Jonah's parole.

OMG, that reminds me.. a few guys came up and said hey, we're doing pictures with artists. We're like, okay, its artists alley EVERONE is buying pictures... they clarify TAKING pictures with artists. Oh! Okay. I tell them they'd have to ask the girls.

Guy: What about you? (I was sketching at the time.)
Me: Oh, I'm not one of the middle schoolers, I'm actually chaparoning.
Guy: O_O Wooooaaahh middle school? We don't touch the under 18 crowd!

They couldn't get around the corner and elsewhere fast enough and damn near ran. Rachel and I exchanged this o_O look with an arched eyebrow and wondered precisely what they had planned to DO with those pictures...

Not sure how they failed to connect the two signs proclaiming middle schools to have, yknow, MIDDLE SCHOOLERS behind the table.

Actually, I'll have plenty of pictures up Friday or Saturday in the column. But I do wish Andy and George would at least stop and say hello. I mean, it would be nice if all of us that work for Jonah knew what one another looked like.

I know George. In a weird twist of fate, he taught a class at the film school I used to go to.

We even talked comics once.

Here's my rambling and tangenting post from the con. I've forgotten a ton of things, but half of it WAS written on the last bit of the plane home. >.>

You can see kids art though! And some of the awesome art I bought. ^_^
