I see a lot of potential in Daniels' writing and am enjoying his Batman more and more as he ties together more threads and the story is becoming more streamlined.

As far as Winick nothing he's done has stood out to me as really good or really bad more to the point barring arcs listed in discussions about him I can't remember anything he's done which is probably the worst thing that can be said about a writer.
See, but that's the problem. There's leeway for Daniel because he's an inexperienced writer. Well, then, why is DC putting an inexperienced writer on one of its longest running books?

As for what Winick wrote, well, most notably he wrote Under the Hood, which I absolutely loved.

Ya im sorry, but no. He wrote Dick like he was an incompetent amateur, and took the "smile" way too far. Hell he didn't even write Two Face good
Well, I wouldn't necessarily agree that he wrote Dick like an incompetent amateur. He stops a bunch of shooting gunmen without getting out of the Batmobile, stops Dr. Phosphorous and Scarecrow quickly and taught a lesser-trained Damian.
Dick also bitched to Alfred about the cape, mourned the loss of Bruce and yeah, Two-Face caught him smiling while wearing the Batsuit. But it's also to establish that Dick =/= Bruce. Just because Dick smiled while wearing the Batsuit didn't make him incompetent. He loves what he does.

As for Two-Face, he sounded like a gangster freak who relied a lot on his coin and was obsessed with Batman to me. I don't know how that's out of character??
The dream sequence, I'll definitely agree that was weird and could have been handled better. But I'd take that over what Daniel is writing any day.

Then had to have Alfred bail him out the rest of the way, and whined all the way through.

All which was already done, and done better. Though his very first issue wasn't bad. It wasn't in till he started his 4-part arc that it all went towards the pooper.

There's other ways and better ways to do that. Every other writer manged to find ways to do that and still keep Dick looking cool and professional, not goofy.

That wasn't only part of what made Winick's Dick seem incompetent. Also yes he loves what he does but he also trained by Batman and knows when it time to get down to business and be serious. He never smiled like that when he was Nightwing, no reason he'd do it when he's Batman.

Using magic teleportation to get into the Batcave, sporting a gun it looks like he borrowed from the Joker. Ya that's classic Two-Face

Not me. Daniel is killing his run, with Winick by his 3rd issue i couldn't wait till he was done.

Did you actually read the Nightwing title? Particularly under Chuck Dixon? Dick was smiling and quipping all the time.

Not like that. He would be a wise ass and would smile/grin sure, but this was just pointless smiling. Chuck Dixon made it seem natural, Winick did not. He wasn't being a smart ass, he wasn't trying to rile his opponents, he was just smiling ridiculously. For the camera too. Also like i said that was only part of what made Winick's Dick seem incompetent.
