Default DCAU tie-in Bat-comics discussion thread

I don't know how many of you guys have read or even heard titles like The Batman Adventures, but for those of you who have: what are your thoughts on them?

Me, I love 'em to pieces. They're perfect for guys that are clamoring for more of the DCAU. Plus, it has some of the most underrated Joker writers ever (like Ty Templeton and Kelley Puckett) that could seriously give Dini a run for his money.

And the Archie Goodwin tribute issue had me in tears. And I don't even know who the hell Archie Goodwin is!

So, thoughts?

I have seen the Batman Adventures around and thought about picking them up, just I never have.... maybe I will stop by my comic shop after the holiday season and pick up a couple if they really are good.

The Two-Face issue... and you know exactly which one I am talking about, is classic.

And of course... Mad Love.

I would also go so far to say that some of the best DCAU Joker stories were in the comics.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think many of us forget how many of the Joker episodes of BTAS were not good despite Mark Hamill.

The first Batman Adventures series and the first 15 or so issues of Gotham Adventures (written by Ty Templeton) were great all-ages entertainment. They did a great job of featuring a done-in-one story. The rest of Gotham Adventures became much more juvenile and child-oriented, and I eventually stopped buying it because could no longer enjoy it. It haven't read the second, short-lived Batman Adventures series that followed, but I heard it got good reviews. I recently bought the Mad Love hardcover and would definitely recommend it.

The Batman Adventures, Batman Adventures, and Batman Beyond were the only good DCAU tie ins. JLU sucked.

I've really want to track down The Lost Year one of these days, and maybe some of stories that follow up on the series. I need my BTAS fix. NOTHING IS OVER!
