Default Were Reed Richards' calculations wrong?

Were Reed Richards calculations wrong? Considering during Civil War Reed stated he can predict future events, why didn't he predict the Marvel population being stupid enough to give Norman Osborn power? Does he still believe the SHRA is necessary to prevent a global disaster now that Osborn enforces it?

Has Reed admitted his "law should be obeyed no matter what" attitude has been proven wrong now that Osborn administers the laws?

Read Dark Reign: Fantastic Four. Everything is addressed there.

I think Reed will soon be revealed to be the Blue Goblin, sidekick of Norman "Green Goblin" Osborn.

I didn't read it, but that's where it's revealed that Reed just didn't calculate far enough, right? Where he determines that no matter what course of action was taken after the act was passed, it all leads to Osborn or someone similar being put in charge.

there is no way Reed could have accounted for Peter Parker making a deal with Mephisto; thereby opening up the Marvel Universe to corruption. with great power... yadda yadda yadda.

When was it shown that Peter's deal with Mephisto opened the MU up to corruption?

"Must have put a decimal point in the wrong place or something. I always do that; I always mess up some mundane detail."

"OH! Well, this is not a mundane detail Reed!!!"

Isn't that the Mad Thinker's shtick -- and he was never right. Reed Richards should have known better than to make such a statement. Doesn't he know about the X factor?

if you live your life worrying about the x-factor, nothing gets done. spider-man shouldn't save that guy from the burning building. that individual might one day become a supervillain after some science accident.

It all goes back to trying to predict future events is about the dumbest thing you can do anyway. Especially in the Marvel U. There are just to many massive unseen varibles to contend with. That was one of my main reasons for thingking the whole storyline was dumb to begin with since Reed and Tony better than anyone should know things like that.

I'd say the Marvel Universe being open for corruption has more to do with Tony Stark and less to do with Peter Parker.

Also, Reed himself has stated that he can predict the general trends and larger details, but he couldn't predict the actions of ever single person. When you're dealing with superheroes, a single person can make all the difference in the world.

yes, like Peter Parker. who's in charge? Norman. who's Norman's archenemy? Peter.
