Yeah, thats the theory i came up with. I don't think Voldemort ever tried to kill Harry in the first place. I just hope all the dead characters spirits dont reappear to lend Harry their power to defeat Voldemort. That would be lame.

I just finished reading Half-Blood Prince tonight, and at this point, I think I'll only be satisfied with one of two endings for the series:

    1. Harry kills Voldemort and lives, and the last chapter of the book shoots ahead 100 or so years to show Harry as Headmaster. Then Rowling can return to the Hogwarts universe in future books, dropping the Harry Potter and... from the titles, and use Professor Potter as a supporting character in some other students' adventures. Not unlike Orson Scott Card's Ender series.

    2. Harry kills Voldemort's body, only to realize he is the final Horcrux, and Voldemort still lives inside him. With 100% of his remaining soul, V is able to possess Harry's body, as he couldn't do in Book 5. Without hesitation, Harry
tells Voldemort that he's been defeated by the power of love, and he puts the tip of his wand against his own head and kills them both. In the near future, Hermoine is the professor of History of Magic at Hogwarts, and we see her teaching her students about the selfless legend of Harry Potter, "The Boy Who Died". And with that, Rowling never revisits the series.

Then again, what the hell do I know. I only started reading the series for the first time about a month ago. :)

this doesn't have anything to do with the ending but we were talking horcruxes in the other thread: the diary, Nagini, the ring, the pendant, then we possibly have the cup and then something from Ravenclaw - which leaves something out from Gryffindor if Voldemort retained the seventh part in himself. Everyone thinks of the sword but what about the Sorting Hat? According to it's song it was Gryffindor's; and then when Voldemort and Dumbledore meet in the headmaster's office it was hinted that Voldemort may have done something.

I just don't think Harry is a horcrux at all, especially since Voldemort was trying to kill him in the first place.
What have I always believed? That, on the whole, and by and large, if a person lived properly, not according to what any priests said, but according to what seemed decent and honest inside, then it would, at the end, more or less, turn out ok.

Harry could be a horcrux but Voldomort doesn't *know* he is.

    Although it would be lame.

Everybody i've talked to assumes that Harry is a Horcrux. It would almost seem too obvious at this point. The sorting hat is a pretty good guess, though.
If one of the big three is going to die, it's gonna be Ron. It would have a considerably larger emotional impact than Hermione dying. I sometimes wonder that if Hermione hadn't become such a popular character in the movies, she might not have become such a big character in the books.
I wonder who the Defense against the Dark Arts teacher is going to be in Book seven? I think it would have to be a new character, since I can't really think of an existing character who would make sense at this point.

of course Hermione would have been just as popular since the first 3 books were done by the time the first movie ever came out

she has always been a part of the books
no matter how popular she became because of the movies she was still one of the 3 top characters in the series

I have the strangest feeling she going to kill Harry and then some how return him from the dead. While it would be clichéd, she would be keeping her word.
Just wanted to pointed out how right I was.:D

I made this prediction almost a year and half ago.:)
