As a side note, in JSA #76, the Society seems to be aware of Max Lord's death just about as soon as it happens. There's no way to make the last page of OMAC #6 be on the same day as the Libya battle -- not if you want to fit in all the other DCU material. In any case, even the last few pages of that issue seem to allow a passage of some time. How long after the Libya battle is it when Batman goes to the Checkmate castle and kisses Sasha?Originally Posted by sudoku
I, for one, haven't been able to place Supergirl either. The Outsiders stuff makes things difficult. Presumably they have a new headquarters for stowing their jet somewhere.Originally Posted by d newton

A terrifying amount to total, I'm sure!
Check out all of My Classic Comic Review Threads!
Birds of Prey #87-90 covers several days, including a Green Arrow/Black Canary jaunt in Star City that is already difficult to reconcile with JLA #115-119 and JLA #120-125.Originally Posted by d newton

The footage is a throwaway reference, nothing more. So I figure we're pretty safe throwing it away. It's unfortunate, but there's no alternative.
Yeah. On average, I think I've spent more than $200 a month on comics the past year.Originally Posted by shaxper

As I say on SBC, my chronology involves interpretations and resolutions of inconsistencies that are entirely my own. And there are certainly places where I may revise my chronology later ... though the footage reference in Birds of Prey #87 is not something I can reconcile, I don't think ever.
In fact, if I'm not mistaken, I believe Ed ignores the footage reference as incorrect also. Ed?
(Incidentally, Ed and I have had a good exchange of ideas in private emails, regarding the differences and similarities in our respective chonologies. We may yet find ourselves borrowing ideas from each other in future revisions of our respective works.)
Yep. Sorry, I shoulda put a post up explaining...There seemed to be a lot of "cross conversation" going on so I merged the threads.Originally Posted by PaulTiberius

Newell, you have certainly done a lot of good work on that thread! Have you downloaded my Excel file from SBC to see how I've placed things according to my research? You might be able to find a few references in your own list that are out of order. Forgive me for not wanting to go through your material and make suggestions ... I'm really in need of a break, before I get going on a Version 2 for my chronology.Originally Posted by Paul Newell

Thanks Tiberius, will do. :)
I'd place the Supergirl stuff pre-Countdown.Originally Posted by PaulTiberius
We can place her arrival on earth a few months before Identity Crisis. Her public debut at the end of the arc takes place after IDC, which presumably happens during the time that Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman allow the world to believe that she is dead (ie. between the first and second half of SUPERMAN/BATMAN #13).
SUPERMAN/BATMAN #19/SUPERGIRL #0 happens prior to the formation of the United Villains.
SUPERMAN #223 (set before IC #1 and after the villains have formed --- albeit at an indeterminate point) refers to the as-of-yet unpublished events of SUPERGIRL #4 and #5 as having already happened.
My Supergirl timeline would go...
SUPERMAN/BATMAN #8-13.5 (Pre-IDC)
Second half of SUPERMAN/BATMAN #13 (Post-IDC)
SUPERMAN/BATMAN #19/SUPERGIRL #0
SUPERMAN/BATMAN #23-25
SUPERGIRL #1-5
Countdown
JLA disbands. Current JLA arc with Supergirl begins.
SUPERMAN #224
INFINITE CRISIS #1-4
I don't think that works at all. In Supergirl #2, she meets Superboy during his exile in Smallville after "Insiders." At least, I think that's explicitly stated. I'll be researching it more some time next month.Originally Posted by PatrickG

I should also note that I might eventually add six days to my timeline between "Insiders" and the beginning of IC. That would fix the days of the week references from Teen Titans. I doubt it would seriously alter the order of things, but it would alleviate some of the crowding (for example on day 10, I have Birds of Prey 88 and JLA 115-116, when really, that seems like too busy a night for Black Canary and Green Arrow. It'd probably work better if JLA 115-116 comes the day after BoP 88.)
I see why you placed JLA 115 before BoP 87-88, Paul (It was to tie the JLA reference to the Firestorm kidnapping directly to Villains United 4, while BoP 87 clearly takes place after Villains United 6). For my timeline, however, I gave precendence to the Black Canary/Green Arrow relationship, so it made more sense for BoP 88 to precede JLA 115. I assumed that Lois was writing her Firetorm story several days after the actual kidnapping had taken place (it could have very easily been a detailed investigative report, rather than a "breaking news" piece).
