Hi! This is the new thread for those involved with Global Comic Jam!!!
We'll be hanging out over here after our messageboard went down. CBR has been a welcome place for me for three years (yes, pre-Jonah's "Zero Hour"), and I thought I'd invite the GCJ contributors over here to talk about the strips. I know I'm new there, but I love GCJ.... and liked having a forum to discuss the new pages.
Plus, we hope that some of you great CBR artists will join up with the fun of contributing pages to the series on the site! I actually first heard about the site when CBR poster Drew Moss posted a link to his page for the strip "Fusion Odyssey". Not only was I impressed with Drew's work, I also liked alot of the other work there as well and enjoyed the idea of participating!
Global Comic Jam's comics work much like a traditional campfire story. The idea is that each new page is written and drawn by a different artist. The result is that each page is of course something unique and different, that maybe something someone else didn't expect. When you sign up, you usually don't know what the page you will follow up on will look like until it gets posted, but your job is to continue the story from that point.
I'll let Kim Larsen explain it, probably way better than me. Kim is the guru of Global Comic Jam and started it with a very fun comic called "Almost Real". Plus, he's a very nice guy.
I'm relatively new, and just posted my first page there... great time for our forum to go kaput. I want some feedback, so I made the suggestion to post here at CBR while the forum's down. My next post will have the link to my first page there.
Please feel free to post your comments and critiques here about any and all of the great strips over at Global Comic Jam ( http://www.globalcomicjam.com )
I'd thought I'd start us with one thread for now. If lots of people come in, and the thread gets very long, maybe we can start some new ones based on the most popular series.
If you are from GCJ, welcome to the CBR forums.
If you are from CBR, welcome to the world of GCJ.
