Default Settle this for me about Polaris

Is she or isn't she Magneto's daughter?

Not too clear at the moment. She's said so since she returned from Genosha and has even gone as far as to tell Pietro and Wanda she's their half-sister. However, its not been mentioned in a while and I read a little while ago that her status as a member of the Magneto clan would be dealt with in House of M. I can't remember where I read that or I'd offer a link, maybe someone else knows?

That's not conclusive either, of course. 'Dealing with it' may simply mean clarifying it beyond doubt that she is Erik's daughter. I kinda expect it'll be retconned, though.

    She's crazy, so probably, no.

    Just a guess.

Basically, she thinks she is, and the writer who had her say that, Chuck Austen, apparently intended for that to be the case. Every other writer seems to be ignoring it, most fans hate it, and I'd expect it to be either dealt with in House of M, addressed by Claremont (or Marvel continuity fixer Busiek) someday, or simply swept under the rug and never mentioned again.

    She is, until she isn't.

According to Austen, Lorna is Magneto's daughter. She performed a paternity test that confirmed it, and even introduced herself to Wanda and Pietro as their new sister. This contradicts a paternity test that was performed during AoA (and Lorna was--surprise!--crazy and claiming Mags was her daddy there too), but odds are it will either be retconned again during House of M or it'll it will turn out to be another one of her crazy delusions.

I almost imagine a Grant Morrison-type meta-fiction character will be created to drop a big bomb on all of Austen's run in a bit.

Well, maybe not. But it just seems that EVERYONE is unhappy with at least one thing from his run. And by 'things' I mean pretty big things like Nightcrawler's origin and Lorna's paternity.

She's a genetic construct made by Mr. Sinister using Magneto's DNA with implanted memories designed to keep an eye on as well as eventually mate with Havok. Only when her magnetic powers were activated Sinister was no longer able to control her, but she kept living the life he programmed her to live and Sinister's just waiting for her to finish her job. But she's not nuts, Sinister's activated a back up plan to keep her under X-men care. Cable did his job, imagine what Sinister could do with Alex's offspring.

I'm hoping that she is since she and Magneto have the same powers. I always felt that children should inherit the same powers their parents have.

You've all got it backwards- she's Magneto's mother. Sinister bred Cyclops and Jean Grey together to get Cable; Havok and Polaris together gets you Mags. Throw in some time traveling and HEY!- you're done.

I asked her this a few months ago.
She laughed and destroyed the front garden fence in anger.

She's obviously the daughter of Viper and Doc Sampson, but from an alternate future.

I believe Sinister created Malice from Polaris' DNA. He hinted that Malice was "made" for Lorna Dane in Uncanny X-Men #239.

Well that's easily explained away by saying Malice was the back up Polaris or even her sister or hell, the real Lorna Dane.
