    Default Where is Backlash????

Just wondering where backlash is. he was my Favorite character back in the original Stormwatch days but once we lost the original stormwatch team I lost him, with the exception of his solo series (or was it kindred with him and grifter) & the Crossover with spiderman i lost track. what's happening with him now? anyone know what i should be reading?

He led a new team called in the series Wildcore for awhile, until it was cancelled. Wildcore made an appearance later in the fourth issue of Gen-Active, where most of the team was killed during a breakout at a super-prison. Backlash himself lost a leg, I believe.

But that was quite a few years ago, and he may very well have made appearances since then.

Last I saw, he was operating without a costume as an agent of IO in Sleeper.

Yeah, he played a pretty big role in POINT BLANK and SLEEPER. He basically ran IO when Lynch was in a coma.

Cool, I hadn't heard of this. Is it all old Team 7 members, or just a random mix of heroes?

First issue is due out Decmber 7th (rather fitting)

Combination of solicits for the first two issues:

Acclaimed writer Chuck Dixon (NIGHTWING, ROBIN) revisits the Team he
helped create and enlists super-star artists Doug Mahnke (BATMAN, JLA) & Sandra Hope (INFINITE CRISIS covers, DANGER GIRL) for a 6-issue tale of heroism and bloodshed.

The year is 1945. In the twilight of World War II, a clash of ideologies leads to a colder, more sinister conflict. And the first battle of this new World War will be fought on the eastern frontier of Germany by a band of seven American commandos. In the epic tradition of the original Team Seven and such films as The Dirty Dozen and Saving Private Ryan comes a blood-and-guts tale set in the waning days of World War II.

Codename Deathblow has been assigned a mission of dire importance to the future of American national security: reach German test labs in Peenemunde, Germany before the Soviets can, and evacuate all personnel.

Deathblow gathers his team of seven for their deadly mission into Germany. Meet Backlash, Grifter, and the whole unit as they prepare for what could be a suicide mission! It's hardcore World War II action in the vein of Band of Brothers!

1945? So this is some kind of Elseworlds story? Or a previous version of the team that uses the codenames that Team7 ends up using?

It does sound like a great story though, so I'm picking it up.

yeah, but that Deathblow is probably James Cray, Mike's father. he was after all an admiral.

edit: as for Backlash, last time i saw him was in Point Blank with a bionic leg. losing the gen-factor probably took his healing powers which leaves him only with misting.

In an interview at Newsarama, Chuck Dixon, the writer of Team 0 (as well as the first two Team 7 minis) specifically stated that the Grifter in Team 0 was not Cole Cash. Backlash, on the other hand, is the original one, by the virtue of his immortality.

Nothing really, some talk by Grifter about him in Point Blank and in the Eye of the Storm annual IIRC. But it was mostly how he interacted with Max and Cole and it was all text.

Maybe. Who knows. Chuck Dixon only said that Team 0's Grifter will be someone who's better suited for the codename.
